This is a theory-first primer on research methods and statistics, built for social science students, early researchers and anyone who has to read a paper without a stats background. The syllabus shows 60 lectures and 21 quizzes across 11 sections, about eight hours in all. It moves from variables and levels of measurement through descriptive and inferential statistics, parametric and non-parametric tests, common errors, and a short look at software. It comes from Monk Prayogshala, an Indian research institute, and reviewers describe the teaching as slow, slide-led narration.
The praise is steady, with a 4.4 average across 1,028 ratings and 758 of them four or five stars. Reviewers like the simple definitions, the diagrams and the clear structure, and several call it a gentle first pass for people new to research. The complaints are just as consistent. It reads like a narrated textbook, examples are thin, the parametric test sections lack detail, and the quizzes are few. A handful mention the accent, mispronounced words or background noise. One reviewer watches at 1.25x to get past the pace.
The course was last updated in August 2023, and the software section is only four short lectures, so nobody should expect a tutorial on running tests. Reviewers who wanted to apply the material say it never shows how, and one points to Khan Academy instead. It makes sense as a vocabulary and orientation layer before a thesis or a hands-on stats course. If practice is what you need, look elsewhere.

Statistics are widely used in social sciences, business, and daily life. Given the pervasive use of statistics, this course aims to train participants in the rationale underlying the use of statistics. This course aims to explain when to apply which statistical procedure, the concepts that govern these procedures, common errors when using statistics, and how to get the best analysis out of your data.

A reasonably good match for me; however, I would have liked the Parametric Test sections to have been more informative and detailed in examples of the nature and methodologies of the tests. The course mainly follows relatively dry slide presentations, making taking in complex information such as statistics and testing methodologies quite challenging to obtain the knowledge and recall it. Best studied in short chunks, with a slightly turned ear to the mispronunciations of several key English words. That being said, the content is generally very good.

I was disappointed with this course. Felt like a let down.
Someone reading from somebody's else' notes felt like some nursery rhymes for kids. I am sure if I had the course meant this type of poor quality, I would have been much better off reading a couple of books.

This nicely explains various statistical tests and how to think through which tests are for which purposes. A couple of tests also have a bit of basic explanation of how to compute the tests. Also, it ends with introducing a recommendation for softwares to do statistical analysis.
