An step by step overview of finance accounting and controlling in SAP

Our take
Based on the ratings of 30 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in October 2013. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is a short overview of finance and controlling in SAP. It runs 78 minutes across 19 lectures and seven sections, starting with what SAP is, moving through client concepts and account determination, then master data and reporting, and closing with a two-minute piece on cost allocation. Jay Dhruv, who teaches under the OJAYO training brand, pitches it at everyone with no prerequisites. The syllabus shows no quizzes or exercises, so it is a glossary-level tour, not a training course.
The reviews are not kind. Of 30 ratings, 12 are three stars, 13 are one or two stars, and only 5 are four or five. The complaint that keeps coming back is the delivery. One reviewer says the narrator mumbles and is tough to follow, another says the English pronunciation is weak and the speaker needs more energy. A third points out there are almost no screenshots or real-world examples. Someone else simply expected more training on SAP accounting than the course gives.
The material was last updated in October 2013, so SAP screens and menus may look quite different now, and the course is thin for a subject this big. With 410 students it is also a small player. It is short and low priced, so the risk is small, but it only makes sense as a quick vocabulary primer. Anyone planning to work in SAP FICO should look for a longer, newer course with hands-on screens.
Pros
- Short at 78 minutes, so it works as a fast skim of FICO terms
- Seven sections move from SAP basics to account determination, master data and reporting
- No prerequisites, and the description promises a soft copy of the notes at the end
- Comes with a certificate
Cons
- Reviewers say the narrator mumbles and is hard to follow
- Few screenshots or real-world examples, according to reviewers
- Last updated in 2013, with no quizzes or exercises to practice on
Tutor mumbles a lot in between teaching. Hence, I have not gained anything from this.
Labeled for everyone, but reviewers wanting first-hand accounting knowledge found it too thin and hard to follow.

By Stephen John Wimberly on 1/3/2017
The narrator mumbles without enunciating his words. The result is dialogue which is tough, and at times impossible, to follow. The content shows very few/no screen shots and/or real world examples. Very few people will benefit form someone mumbling on about basic accounting concepts. I was looking for some first user accounting knowledge; I received none.
