Course Description
In my conversations with people who were thinking about test automation careers several needs kept coming back quite frequently, such as
I am wondering if test automation is something for me,
I am looking for a course with more focus on practical exercises,
I do not have so much time. I need something short and condensed instead of multi-hour waffling on a single example.
I have created this course with the hope that it will answer those needs.
Selenium IDE is the best first step in test automation.
If you have very basic programming skills or don’t have any, you can successfully complete the course and understand the most important concepts behind test automation.
Unlike most Selenium IDE courses out there you will actually learn how to automate tests on real-life examples.
You will first start by learning the basics of creating a test script and assertion techniques, and the course evolves from there. I use easy to understand examples to simplify even the most difficult concepts.
The course will help you understand:
How Software Tester work looks like,
What exactly test automation is,
Why locators in test automation are so important.
Become an expert in locating elements strategies!
The underlying motivation for the course is to ensure that you'll gain solid skills in locating elements on the web page. 50% of success in automation are good chosen locators. This is universal knowledge that will be useful in other more advanced automation tools, such as Selenium Webdriver.
After taking this course you will be able to easily write automated tests in Selenium IDE along with applying good practices. Also, you will know if working as a Software Tester is for you.
Condensed and practical knowledge about test automation is now available for you.

Great course! I really liked the inclusion of exercises for practice—they made the learning process much more effective. The explanations were clear, detailed, and easy to follow. The only issue I noticed is the lack of exercises in the Locators part. It would be great to include some practice there as well.

This was very informative and a good place to start. The Quiz in section 2 could have had more questions that pertained to the exercise. Also, a Quiz for section 3 would have been helpful to show the student that they understood the information from the lesson. Good overall and I would recommend to a friend who is starting out in selenium IDE.

I thought this was a pretty good course, very easy to follow and the exercises weren't overly difficult. My only issue was that I had some issues with the first exercise getting the base URL to open. It might be better to have the URL linkable or easily copied, rather than needing to type it by hand from looking at a png file.

Quick and practical class with easy examples! One slight issue I saw: when showing the Xpath examples in the developer tools window, the "Find by string, selector, or XPath" search box was all the way at the bottom edge of the video, which would overlap with the udemy course video controls. Adding some padding/changing the way the video is cropped could help. Hope that made some sense. Thank you!

This was good, I really like the way mistakes were made during the lesson, and then corrected. This shows i can make mistakes and try to correct it/ how to read the error and do the fix. I request you to do a similar course (mini courses) for converting to the code and how to run in the code. Thank you.

THE CONTENT IS VERY GOOD AND SHOWS YOU TRICKS NOT LEARNED IN SHORTER COURSES ON SELENIUM. MAYBE IT COULD HAVE MORE EXERCISES WITH SOLUTIONS ON THE USE OF XPATH AND CSS FOT THE STUDENT TO DO. THE PRONOUNCIATION OF ENGLISH IS SOMETIMES CONFUSING AS THE SUBTITLES DON´T MATCH THE SCRIPT, WHAT MADE ME PLAY SOME SECTIONS SEVERAL TIMES.

Sessions on Selenium IDE for the Basic of Test Automation was explained better way on the Web Application. If the Installation selenium IDE for the different OS's would have added in the session could be much better and much scripting sessions on basics can be included !! overall, it was good.

This guide was great for putting me on track with selenium IDE and also it has great content for identifying web elements, a knowledge that is essential for every automation tester. I really recommend this course for beginners in automation testing or Selenium IDE or for people to sharpen up their web element locating strategies

Excellent examples provided including downloadable images of exercises, instructions, hints & solution answers. Two different practice websites available so you can learn Selenium ide by writing tests on public web pages (one is a Katalon demo site and the other is a GitHub project AutomationPractice.com).

My objective was to learn Selenium webdriver, however i decided i could benefit learning IDE before stepping into the next stage. Its a decision i truly wont regret as it gives an amazing insight, step by step approach and hands-on for locating element which is the basis of automation. I have used Xpath,Css just with syntax and without much understanding all these days. Also, If you are looking for information on what locator to choose for what element, you are at the right place. Helps manual tester immensely who want to step into automation world.
