Serverless Framework Bootcamp: Node.js, AWS & Microservices (Udemy.com)

First, the good news: this is a very good instructor. While I occasionally struggled to keep pace with the coding, he's overall clear and explains the underlying concepts well. The bad news: this course cannot count as up-to-date. The dependencies conflicts kept piling up until the last (bonus!) frontend section took more effort to get running than it was ultimately worth. It's still a decent course if you want to learn the fundamentals of serverless architecture, microservices, AWS, DynamoDB, and Auth0. But be prepared to troubleshoot a significant amount of package and API changes.

This was a great course with good amount of services and topics covered. Ariel explains the concepts very clearly and to the point. Duration of this course was ample enough to understand the concept and not waste many hours. The only one problem with the content is that it is quite old as of now on June, 2025. Any beginners who are doing this course might face a lot of errors with latest versions of Serverless framework, AWS SDKs. I would recommend using latest SDKs and configuring/correcting/debugging the code yourself to keep the microservices updated, might take a lot of time doing that but good practice.

One of the best "crash" courses I could find on udemy to learn the basics of sls within 5 hours of video! When you compare this course to other top selling serverless courses on Udemy, you could see it lacks few topics here and there. However, other courses are about 20 hours of video, and that would be too long for me to jump start with the topic. So the trade off was acceptable for me. The course lays a good foundation to goo deeper. One star was taken for two reasons: 1) The lack of topics covered (of which instructor said he will cover later but he never did) 2) The lambda code was all in aws sdk v2 which is outdated already. For me, it wasn't that hard to find the sdk v3 equivalent from aws docs, but it would've been nice if it was there so you can focus more time on serverless than code compatibility issues. Either way, it was useful learning journey. The instructor is very good at making things look simple, and practical.

The course is Awesome! The explanations are in-depth and sooo helpful because they provide a clear reason for every line of code. I would have given the course a 5-star rating but for the fact that there are a lot of outdated commands and files that made the course so hard to follow. I had to spend most of the time debugging and searching for answers from google instead of understanding the course material. I hope the Team updates the course sometime soon in order to rise back to the top! Nevertheless, they did a great job and I applaud them for that... Thank you very much

This is a great course where you learn the main concepts of AWS and Serverless Framework. The explanations are really clear and you can follow with easy the course even if you don't have experience with AWS serverless like me. I hope you continue adding new content to it. Amazing content. Thank you for this. It de-mystifies the Serverless and Lambda functions solution. No nonsense. straight to the point and very informative. I really recommend this for all beginners. I would have liked to see a solution with AWS Cognito as well, but I think i can research that on my own. Thank you Ariel

Very clear and smooth course. 10/10 to the instructor. Learned a lot, this is a great course to start learning the serverless stack. It will not go into frond end part, only back end (except for a bonus section) but there is a lot of courses and resources out there to learn React. Hope the instructor put more courses regarding following this course to a more advance and complex application (not that this one was not complex). Thanks!

This is a 100% practical course that helped me seeing serverless in a different way. I liked the way the teacher started building the back end APIs and then building and integrating the different micro services. I would like having more courses like this, focused more on the business logic than in the front end, probably with AppSync.

Yes - course content is great. Marked down somewhat for the quality of the subtitles, though, which are almost incomprehensible - could do with being updated manually because the automatic subtitling is worse than normal here.
