Course Description
This course will help you prepare for the Snowflake SnowPro Core certification exam COF-C02, which is a foundational exam in the SnowPro certification exam series. Being a foundational certification exam, this exam covers all the basics including Snowflake architecture, virtual warehouses, storage, security, Time Travel, cloning, data sharing, and data loading. So even if you are not aiming to sit in the exam, preparing for the certification is a great way to get familiarized and become an expert at Snowflake. Please note that this course assists in preparing for the exam but does not guarantee exam success.
This course is organized into several sections. Each section focuses on a particular area related to the exam. As we progress through this course, we will first go through a very important section covering Snowflake’s architecture. Once we have understood the architectural and foundational basis of Snowflake, we will explore user interfaces & connectivity options to understand how we can connect to our Snowflake instance and which tools we can use. Continuing in a logical manner, we will then have a series of sections covering data loading into Snowflake, processing of semi-structured and unstructured data, and the data pipelines in Snowflake. Then we will cover some features unique to Snowflake such as Failsafe, Time Travel, Zero copy cloning, and data sharing. We then look into performance optimization techniques and management of account costs through resource monitors before embarking on our second last section on Security.
Towards the end of each section, we have lectures that summarize the learnings of the section and, finally, a quiz to test and reinforce your knowledge.
The final section that you wouldn’t want to miss are two Practice Exams which will test your knowledge of the concepts learned in this course. The practice exams included in this course are not a guarantee of exam success, but they will give you an assessment of your preparedness.
Snowflake offers a variety of certifications. SnowPro Core certification is at the foundation level and is a prerequisite for other advanced certifications such as data engineering, administration, and data science certification. Because the SnowPro Core certification is a prerequisite for advanced certifications, it’s the perfect way to start your Snowflake adventure.

I am a data professional with 20 years of experience architecting, designing, and leading the deployment of many data warehouses, data analytics, and business intelligence solutions. During my career, I have acquired substantial experience and qualifications with various data analytics systems, including Teradata, Oracle, Hadoop, and modern cloud-based tools like Snowflake. I am currently in the role of a senior data architect and an enterprise architect. Despite the architecture hat, I am very much hands-on, and that is how I have designed my courses and books, a mixture of theory interlaced with hands-on exercise to re-enforce the learning.
Speaking of books, I have authored two books on Snowflake. The first one of these books is the Snowflake cookbook, published almost 2 years ago and has proven to be a great success. The second book is the SnowPro Core certification study guide to assist students with attaining SnowPro Core certification.
I am passionate about technology solutions for data warehouses, data lakes, and data lake houses. My goal is to assist & guide every data professional to fully understand the wonderful world of data and its associated concepts and enable them to design efficient and large-scale data analytics solutions.

I liked the way that the instructor presented the materials. As more of a visual learner, I felt that his slides and diagrams really helped me understand the fundamentals of SF. The tests were aligned well with the content. *However*, having literally just returning home from taking the test, I would encourage students to really take a look at the details of the various grant options at the individual privs level. There were a LOT of questions around that in the exam. These weren't explicitly covered in the content of the course. That said, I was able to guess enough right answers to pass the course.

The modules/learning is well structured. I would have liked more labs as in the some sections do not have one. Also, when taking practice tests, I feel like some questions/topics are not covered in the learning.

I’ve just passed the COF-C02 certification exam. I used this course, Hamid’s study guide published by Sybex, and the official documentation. I had an intense two-week preparation, which allowed me to pass with a good score. Some topics are missing from both the course and the book, but that didn’t prevent me from passing. What helped me the most were the fundamentals, which are thoroughly covered in both. I have a little over two years of experience, and I owe much of my success with the test to this course and the book.

Probably the best course looking for the certification (fully addressed for it) ... even though is hasn't been updated for the last 2 years. Other courses (I have plenty of them) cover few more elements (tasks, pipelines, ...) but those are less relevant (both for daily basis and also for the certification)

Cleared my exam on first attempt today, Thank you this course helped a lot. I completed below 3 and it covered 70 to 80% of the questions in the exam. I was taking other courses/practice tests. The other practice tests had a bunch of questions that weren't relevant. This one is the best for understanding Snowflake. I took the test and was very happy to pass!! One thing that I wish I had paid more attention to (my test is in Feb 2024) was the types of URLs and loading/formatting/unloading JSON, especially around NULL values. Thank you, Mr Qureshi!

The instructor gives clear and concise explanation. I’m trying to get my certification and I found this course help me to keep on track and also understanding more deep snowflake. I love the quizzes and the labs as well. Although, I watched mainly on my phone some of the labs are not available, but the course don’t get affected for this. I would recommend this course.

Best Course for Certification Preparation, and I feel confident that I can crack the exam. Big Thanks & Respect!! Best part is on the Test where the Right answers with Explanation was added for the Incorrect questions, and also the Summary of Pass percentage on each topics in the Test

This course covers lot of topics which will be asked in snowpro certification however at many sections it seems like too much theory or instructor way of delivering lecture is like keep on reading sentences than explaining the details . last multiple sections have no labs & no hands on to showcase the concepts. few of the topics are not covered at all like STREAMS , Semistructured data loading in multiple formats , Other Cloud SI Objects etc. overall an average course to have all basic knowledge in snowflake .

Just came out of my certification, and I would agree with another review I just saw related to the fact that this course alone will not give you an easy pass (or maybe not even easy). On the plus side, the contents that are presented are done in a thoughtful and deep manner, so you can feel confident on what you're learning. So congratulations on that. However, there are a good number of topics that are not included here which are covered extensively in the actual exam. Given that one of the objectives is that "this course is designed to help you pass the SnowPro Core certification exam by covering all the basics of Snowflake", this is a bit short. Look for the other review that describes some of these, which should include. - A lot around unstructured data - formats, data types, functions - A lot around loading / unloading with specifics on file sizes, etc - A good number of questions related to resource monitors - A lot around security, not only straight grants but show those grants - A lot around some of the read-only shares ACCOUNT_USAGE, INFORMATION_SCHEMA mostly, and how these differ between them, and the information displayed in the Web UI So again, good content for the one that is there, but definitively use the platform to get more insight, and look for additional courses / exam demos
