The Complete Salesforce Development Course - 2024 Updates (Udemy.com)

Master Salesforce Development with Apex and Lightning. The only course you need, now with Winter '25 Release Updates

Created by: Manish Choudhari

Last updated September 2024

Our take

Based on the ratings of 12,302 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in September 2024. No course pays to be reviewed.

Manish Choudhari's course is a developer track, not an admin course. It runs 36.6 hours across 324 lectures. It opens with a short look at how web apps work, then moves into Apex, SOQL, DML, triggers, governor limits, bulkification, testing and async Apex. The back half covers Aura components and is broken up by five Boss Level Challenge sections. Udemy labels it all levels, but the requirements prefer some Salesforce admin knowledge, and that preference matters more than the label suggests. It is also pitched at Platform Developer 1 and 2 candidates.

Reviewers mostly praise the teaching. Simple, clear and easy to follow come up again and again, and one person with 3.5 years of Salesforce work said it solidified their Apex and Lightning knowledge. A business analyst said the frontend and backend explanation helped her support her developer team. The complaints are specific. A beginner found the examples hard to relate to and said the code shows up finished without enough on how it was written. Others call some answers rushed, say the boss challenge starter files on GitHub are missing pieces, and one 2022 reviewer found the Aura section weak while liking the Apex parts.

The last update was September 2024, which is over two years ago. The Release Updates section stops at Winter '25, and the front-end work is Aura, with no separate Lightning Web Components section in the syllabus. Treat the Apex material as the part that ages best. There are no quizzes or coding exercises, so practice comes from the challenges. With more than 72,000 students and about 12,300 ratings averaging 4.6, it is the developer-focused pick next to admin and intro courses. Good for people who already know the admin side and want to write Apex.

Best forSalesforce admins or junior developers who want Apex, triggers and async code, plus groundwork for Platform Developer exams.
Skip it ifYou want Lightning Web Components, or you have never touched Salesforce or any code and need hand-holding.

Pros

  • Reviewers say the explanations are simple and clear, with examples and analogies that stick
  • Deep Apex coverage: SOQL, DML, triggers, bulkification, governor limits and async Apex
  • Five boss-level challenge sections give hands-on practice beyond the lectures
  • A 135-minute Release Updates section keeps the platform changes through Winter '25 covered

Cons

  • Beginners report examples that assume experience and skip how the code actually gets written
  • Boss challenge GitHub files reportedly have gaps, and one reviewer could not access the project
  • Last updated September 2024, and the Lightning content is Aura with no LWC section
I bought this course after 3.5 years of working with SF. I'm honestly surprised this is very well made and also explained in simply fashion.
Richard Pastirčák, a student

Labeled all levels, but it suits admins and early developers best. Salesforce admin knowledge is preferred.

I bought this course after 3.5 years of working with SF. I'm honestly surprised this is very well made and also explained in simply fashion. No unnecessary jargon and lot of tips and tricks how to improve your development process. Aura section is especially well made. Definitely worth the price it solidified my knowledge about Apex and Lightning.

By LISA BONNER on 10/13/2025

Manish provided a simple but straightforward explanation of frontend and backend technology used to create websites. He gave the best explanation I have heard as of yet; which is so important since I am a beginner to this platform. My goal is not so much to be a developer, but as an ERP Business Analyst, I need comprehensive understanding of Salesforce, so that I can support my developer team.

By Shaila Shinde on 4/5/2024

Manish has done excellent job in designing this course, He has covered from most basic to advanced topics which are very useful for anyone learning Salesforce. The content and assignments have been designed very thoughtfully. I'll definitely recommend this course to anyone who is either new to salesforce or looking to brush up their salesforce skills.

As a Salesforce developer, I was initially struggling with various concepts, but after completing this course, I gained a significant boost in confidence. The course included numerous hands-on exercises and provided clear explanations of concepts, which greatly enhanced my understanding. I would like to extend my congratulations to Manish Sir for his excellent teaching and guidance throughout the course.

I am learning to code Apex for the first time. You're a good teacher still I feel Section 6.61 needs much clarification from our side. I gave 3+ hrs to this particular video still I am not confident that I would be able to develop this type of code in recent times... Section 13 (132) could have been understood by most of your subscribers if you put a little effort to breakdown every piece of code bit by bit and also provide optional approach to write down that code...(JUST A REQUEST) Thank you

By Zeljko Gordic on 11/17/2023

This course, hands down, offers the most effective step-by-step approach to development perhaps even better than any other programming course out there. As a relative beginner in Salesforce development, I've noticed an abrupt increase in the difficulty of challenges at a certain point along the way. Once again, I'm convinced that truly getting into these concepts and providing enough challenges to cover them thoroughly would require around 200 hours of course video. Overall, I can confidently say there's no mistake in choosing this course. I've gained a lot of knowledge and so will you!

By Binoy Mathew on 9/7/2023

Amazing how I've started to write code and didn't even notice that I'm doing it. But the course is on another level now. It definitely requires prior knowledge of so many things. Trying to catch up to the logic itself is very hard. But Thanks again to Manish. This course is helping me a lot, but i'm understanding it due to my 4 years experience working in sfdc. Fresher would not be able to progress as fast.

By Karunakararao Potnuru on 2/2/2023

He explained nicely and very understandable. I have software experience but new to Salesforce. This course helped me really good to move further. Here are some things which I felt need to be covered more. 1. Async Apex is like one of the main concept in salesforce. But it's very shore and examples are very basic level. 2. Too many challenges in the name of Contact tracing app. Instead of writing business logic it would be better if you cover other topics in more detailed manner. But overall it's a good one. I recommend.

Hi, I'm from non It background, so everything was new for me. In The beginning it was basic and simple to Learn. but after middle section of the course, it got very hard for me. But I tried my best to Learn. I had other courses too. But this course was the Best to learn with. And this course has everything. I'm sure this will help me in future too.

By Alamgir Hossain on 6/3/2021

Manesh Sir, I can't thank you enough for putting this beautiful course contents together, I really appreciate your hard work and you have become my role model when developing my knowledge in Salesforce EcoSystem. I have been following you on youtube for a long time. Thank you again for your help on this course and looking forward to jump on your LWC course as my next course completion goal :)
