The Complete Splunk Fundamentals 1 Training Course (Udemy.com)

Highly recommend this corse if you want to pass your splunk core power user certification. I studied for my admin cert while i was at splunk conf 26 and didn’t realize until I went to register that I need to obtain the splunk core power user first. I took this course to prepare for the cert and both parts 1 and 2 allowed me to be equipped to pass the core power user cert.

So far so good! On to the learning part! I love the narrator! It's great that she's not just reading from a script. And I can pause and replay as needed.

The tutorials and the labs were great. Some additional explanation of what is being shown is needed to really drive home the concepts, especially as you begin drilling down into the configurations

Good starting points with basics. Although I did run into data inconsistency with their provide sample data during the Dashboards, Reports, Alerts section.

This is perfect! Splunk went from a fuzzy gray area where I didn't know where to start, to being able to follow completely this helpful guide.

Content was good. Audio was inconsistent between lectures and demos. I had to keep adjusting my volume settings between one. Should be simple enough to just raise the audio output in the demo videos.

The course is definitely expedited by a knowledgeable Splunk User, which can make it harder to follow, but you can always slow the course speed if it truly bothers you. I very much appreciated the Practice Test at the end of the course because it gave me an idea of how well I was retaining the information, and gave me some practical examples of areas I need to focus on more before actually testing.

This course is not for absolute beginners. As the teacher is very quick/fast to go over each lecture & very casual in how she speaks, it's recommended to already have good enough hands-on to at least know what & how things happen in Splunk especially with SPL. The Splunk documentation will be your best friend, not the teacher.

Hailie is an amazing teacher, teaches you the function and THEN goes and shows you a live demo of the actions/commands in action. I can not recommend a better teaching/learning resource for splunk

I've learned so much from taking various Udemy courses led by Hallie. With regards to Splunk, it is a very powerful tool and can be somewhat overwhelming to a novice user. However, Hallie is an astute Splunk trainer -- the lectures are comprehensive and they're reinforced with hands-on demos, that are both easy to follow and helpful with understanding the material(s) being taught. In addition, as a person that appreciates a good pun, the occasional pun during the lectures/demos are much appreciated :) I highly recommend any courses produced by Hallie. I am a much better Splunker based on Hallie's videos. I eagerly await the notification that a new course has been released :)
