Course Description

This course covers how the VFX process works from starting with an idea for a project, taking it into concept and then going through the process to get to the final. Follow me as I build this shot going through all the different stages.
We will focus on the overall picture on what each stage implies and will not get into the technical aspect of the softwares but rather learn what we do in each stage and how we go from one step to another for example: how we start with a storyboard, previs it, move into shooting our footage and so on.
I will be creating a separate course that will focus on learning on how to composite this shot in Nuke as this course will cover the overall VFX Process, so when you are planning your shot / project / film, you will know what to consider and how to plan and execute it better.
You will be able to get much better results if you follow this process and focus how each step plays an important role to make the end result look great!

It is still at the begging of it but still the direction of the the course is not as clear as i hoped it would be

Good news: Basically, the info is great, I never heard such a thorough, yet concise explanation of the entire VFX process before.

Bad news: I gave this course 4.5 stars because there is really annoying background music behind every single video in the course, which gets old fairly quickly. Also, his accent is a little hard to understand (but he's sometimes just reading his slides, so that helps), and some topics he glosses over. However, it makes you want to Google a little bit and learn more about 'ambient occlusion' and other things that he assumes you already know.

To really get the best bang for your buck, I recommend getting another course or two in a 3D program or compositing program and take this course and your other course simultaneously, comparing the two. You'll learn a lot more. I compared this course with some Blender courses I got and it helped me put VFX and 3D work together and get more out of all the courses. Great job!

I was a little disappointed with this course as I was hoping to see a thorough breakdown of the compositing process, but I guess I should've read the outline more closely. I really hope the author makes a full 're-create this shot' course with downloadable assets soon as I will definitely be interested...

Being in the industry, I had a general idea of visual effects which made it easier for me to get started with this course. I think being a producer / director it really helps you to understand visual effects better and how a shot is deconstructed and built from scratch. the instructor sometimes does not finish sentences, it just cuts before he finished talking, it happened on one of the videos at the beginning i don t remember which one but it happened a couple of times.

I guess I expected to see detailed steps to achieving each part of the process. This was basically just an overview of the VFX process. Maybe that was the intent? Not worth it, in my opinion.
