Windows PowerShell Boot Camp (Udemy.com)

Besonders die letzten paar Videos waren unnötig lang und leider mehr oder weniger inhaltslos. Es ging leider gefühlt nur noch darum möglichst viele Parameter von 2-3 Befehlen auszufüllen. Die Präsentationen dazwischen waren auch nicht gut aufgebaut und qualitativ entsprachen sie nicht dem Anspruch eines kostenpflichtigen Kurses (z.B. Folien abgeschnitten oder Bild verzerrt).

The recording sound is at poor quality. The instructor spend to many time showing how to change color of text, he doesn't show how to write comments in code which is very very important. He really does have a lot of typing mistakes. He completely ignores AD OUs and doesn't teach things like how to get all computers names from an OU, this is really important. He says he will teach how to prepare your network for Remote Admin which you need to run the commands in the course, but doesn't do it. He doesn't explain in enough details some of the commands and grammar. He keep saying that the Get-Help is really good in PS but doesn't really shows how to use it.

Audio is way too low (on the 1st video). Can't hear it on my laptop. I can barely hear it on my tablet, even adding a bluetooth speaker... turned up to the max. The only way I can hear it is with earbuds. I had NO trouble in this regard with Python Bootcamp. In a different PS course, the problem was good content but a serious accent I had trouble making out. I am hearing impaired, but as I said had NO trouble with the Python Bootcamp course... which I completed. Edited from My Desktop Computer... ALL better. I did the whole Python course on my tablet, using my laptop for the actual work. The lessons here are too small for view on my tablet, and even my 19" laptop screen is insufficient to do the lessons side by side with an actual power shell, so powered up my desktop that has 3 24" screens and LOUDER speakers. After lecture ONE I actually had to turn it back down. I can hear and see everything fine now. :)

Straight to the point and yet clearly explained. I've been able to take what I've learned and put it to use in my day to day work already. I appreciate that multiple variations are shown of how to perform certain actions to account for personal style and to help prevent confusion for those who may do additional research and see things written another way somewhere.

I learned so much from this course and the Teachers method of teaching was easy to follow and hands on. I definitely recommend this course to anyone that wants to learn PowerShell or wants to enhance their knowledge. Thank You!

Patience is needed to get through the first two videos but you will be rewarded. It starts slow and that is what is needed to build your first script. I agree with something he said in one of the videos, many other videos will go too deep and loose you. This course had me making my own script in a day. Good Job Mr. Johnson. Second part of this course builds from the beginning. I recommend this course as one of the first to watch for PowerShell.

While it took me a while to finish the course, it covered the most important parts of Powershell in good detail, and AD usage in great detail. I especially liked that user-defined functions and param() usage were covered -- some courses leave those out. A great effort, overall. But I must add the following, the instructor's speech was hard to follow sometimes (and I too am a native English speaker) -- voice too low, words half swallowed, unnecessary grammar slips. I would suggest working on oral presentation for each lesson before recording it. In the same vein, do not make mistakes during the demo's unless it is done on purpose to clarify some issue or source of confusion. Practice, then present, please.

Perfect course for me. I've been a windows admin for 10 years now and had barely dealt with power-shell. Anytime I needed something done I'd google it and download pre-done scripts. I recently had an offer for a new position but the requirement was that I knew how to formulate my own script from scratch. Thanks to this course I can now say that I definitely can. On top of that I did this over the weekend!! I only have 1 criticism and that is that it's missing 1 major module. The ability to import from a csv file and attach variables to the columns/rows etc. That's very much a real world need that should be in every PS class. Other than that the instructor was perfect and even left in the mistakes he made to show what can happen in the real world.

It has been extremely informative lecture. I as person with no knowledge in PowerShell, now, not only I understand the concept of PowerShell, but I can create new scripts and also read PowerShell scripts. A+++++++++

Fascinating stuff. As an admin this is one of the few courses that really starts moving your gears and thinking about the possibilities of what you can accomplish with powershell. A lot of courses regurgitate cmdlets and meanings whereas this instructor builds a script right in front of you and explain it almost line-by-line. Excellent.
