Adam Sweeney builds it around a daily writing practice, with lessons on the three kinds of point of view, the parts of a song, ways to vary lyric structure, and a set of exercises he calls golden keys. The pitch is aimed at novice songwriters, with a nod to experienced ones who want another angle. It was last updated in 2021.

Reviewers who liked it say it is encouraging and easy to act on. This definitely feels like very beginner level lyric writing information for the intro songwriter. No shame in that! A lot of this information would have been very sage to me as a learning and beginning songwriter, and I highly recommend it to such a student! However, as an experienced songwriter who's already in the game and who's looking to up my lyrical chops, this course wasn't quite the right fit for me. This should very much be marketed as an intro-level course, which is entirely ok. I also think the fact that this course has a focus on writing pop-punk music should be advertised as well, as this would be an attractive course for one who's looking to write in that genre, as opposed to someone like myself who is more in the world of dark electronica and prog. Solid work Adam! I learned a helpful tip or 2 from you! I feel you just need refinement on targeting who your audience is!

Yes. I have had some luck at writing lyrics when I had to but was not pleased with the results. and some successes that I had not been able to figure out why the lyrics and song turned out so well. This is a definite eye opener a to how to get into the groove and zone of creativity with the proper motivation.
