Most Recent Review

I have completed Section 1 to Section 7 for this course. (Will do another review once I completed the entire section). I rated 4.5 out of 5 stars based on my experience because I like the way Zachary explained the MUI components in detailed. I feel like the teaching pace is just nice for me as I need to get a better understanding of how each MUI component works. However, the remaining 0.5 stars was deducted because just like other people mentioned in the comments, the MUI version in this course is outdated and some were deprecated due to the current MUI v5. But I still feel that is not too bad to create the pages with MUI v5, hence I managed to create for all the pages in this course. For example, in MUI v5 have to use 'styled' to style the custom component instead of 'makeStyles'. Just needed to refer to the documentation and do some more research, especially if I am tackling any difficult coding. See what is the change that made from the older MUI version. I also challenged myself to use Typescript instead of Javascript (that uses in this course). I saw that Zachary will update this course to utilize the MUI v5. So I am looking forward to the big update from him and hopefully that I can learn more about MUI. Thank you Zachary for this wonderful course. :)

Instructor Bio

Hey! I'm Zachary Reece, and I've been coding since I started building basic websites with HTML at 9 years old. I've always had a deep passion and an innate, insatiable curiosity for computers. Over the last 4 years I've been working as a Senior React Developer building web applications for small local companies, billion-dollar corporations, and everything in between. I truly love what I do and am so excited to share it with you all.

Throughout that time I've specialized in the React component library MUI (Material-UI) developing a deep understanding of how the components work from the very basics of each individual component to all the considerations of integrating the components into an entire production application. My first course on MUI has taught over 20,000 students all over the world, helped them start new careers, and was even featured on the official MUI documentation. The course was so popular that I was invited to speak about MUI at React conferences hosted by Geekle in April 2021 and November 2023. I even fixed a real bug in MUI's open source code myself! I've gone from an MUI user to an MUI instructor to an MUI contributor, and now I'm here to share every tip, trick, and secret that I've learned - with you.

I believe in starting with fundamentals and building up conceptual frameworks that can then be applied to practical examples and real-world scenarios. That is how deep understanding and real skills are developed, which is exactly how my courses are structured. In the Mastering MUI series you'll find comprehensive guides on everything from component customization to advanced MUI architectures, all designed to elevate your skills to the next level.

As a self-taught developer who started at zero and worked my way up to become a senior developer and an instructor, I know both the struggles and the immense satisfaction of taking your education into your own hands. I was once exactly in your shoes and I'm committed to doing everything I can to help as many people as possible fulfill their own goals. I can't wait for you to join me on this journey to ReactJS and MUI mastery.
