This course focuses on 10 things that every SQL Server in production should have.

We will start with the single MOST important facet to every SQL Server DBAs job. Backups. We will cover the different kinds of backups and discuss how often we should be taking them. We will demo restores so WE understand the mechanics of how SQL Server backups up a database.

We will talk about the importance of the FULL backup and what having it means to recovery.

WE will cover consistency checks and talk about how often they should be run and why they should be run.

WE will cover statistics and index REBUILDS and how and why we should use them.

Volume was low. I had to crack it up all the way. Speak a bit slowly. The update statistics is still needed even after a rebuild index run.

I am so amazed with this course we are in 2022 and this course was recorded in 2015 but everything still works the same way. May be some new functionalities has been added in maintenance plans but all is still same. I will like to thank Mr. Mike for this amazing course. I have taken numerous course on Udemy but no course has been clear and precise like yours. in the starting i thought the course is small like 1 hour I am not sure if it is good enough. but I am amazed that Mr. Mike only talks the important things and very precise in using the time. so no hovering around just straight to the point. One thing I like the most is that Mr. Mike has explained everything with all the difficulties a bigger DBA will face while doing this and already answered all the questions, came in my mind. Mr. Mike you course is just amazing. God bless you for sharing this valueable information. I will follow all your course. you are indeed the best teacher I have ever seen in the Database Administration. Thanks again for making our life easier with you knowledge and help. Regards.

The content covered in the course is good and made the course worth taking. The editing, however, is very poor. There are some definite flow issues between lectures - one video refers to a bug experienced in a previous video that actually comes later in the course (and that is just the most egregious example), there are spelling errors in multiple places, and the audio quality has some clicking issues. The best produced parts were the video demos (despite the ordering issues) and it would be a much better course if the rest of the production/editing was up to the same quality level.

I'm sorry mike, in my opinion this course is below the standard I'm use to grow accustomed from you. some subjects are not very informational, the backups section is a reap off another course of yours and some lectures having problems with the video. in general, I really like your courses and lectures, just not this one.

Going through the Mike courses now about to start a job as an application support guy with junior DBA responsibilities. Mike keep theory to where it's needed and shows you techniques that are immediately actionable in the real world.

Excellent MIke, JFE (just ... Excellent). I am an experienced DBA but my experience has primarily been with Oracle and I was looking for a "brush up" prior to a job interview for a shop that is primarily SQL Server. You are obviously an expert, your presentation manner and style is very professional, clear, concise, and quick! I hate wasting time and am easily bored. This was one of the best courses I have taken on any subject and in any form. I will be back for more of your courses. (probably most of them), not sure if they all do, but this course certainly did rock! Thanks!

I can't thank Mike enough for providing such useful information without cost; the content in this course is invaluable. Among other things that I appreciate about all of Mike's courses is that he drives straight to the subject matter. You won't find any "filler" in any of his courses... to steal from some Java conferences I've heard of, Mike's courses are "no fluff, just stuff". There's no wasted time, yet enough time to adequately cover the topics at hand. Mike, thanks VERY MUCH for sharing your experience and knowledge with those of us that have far less experience.
