GIMP Web Design Project 3
Our next UX web design project consists of updating another old, out-dated website and giving it a new, fresher, modern design.
Many new tips and UX web design tricks revealed in this project. Learn why I chose a sticky menu for this website, why I chose a hidden menu (via the Hamburger icon), how I created a seamless gradient background (from header to hero to the footer) for a modern flair, more pro tips on images, how to work with a third party application as part of your UX web design, and much more.

In this UX web design project the learning continues! Starting off with a large Hero image as the backdrop of the UX design. This image alone will elevate this companies existing brand and will distinguish it as a leader in it’s area. As great as the image is it could be better. We’ll make it better by learning how to remove 2 cars from the foreground… you’ll learn how to retouch like a pro.... all in GIMP.
The next part of this UX web design, involves creating a great (UX) user experience by giving visitors exactly what they are looking for. In this case a place to rent. You’ll achieve this by designing a filter, in the Hero section, that will allow visitors to narrow down their search.

I reached Lesson 11. The author introduces a Add-in feature 'Layer Effects'. It appears it is going to be a substantial tool in the course. However. he does not explain how to get the add-in. I have researched the tool and find it has been discontinued. I dislike this kind of promotion. I going to ask for my money back on this course.

This course is a good match for me. I'm just now now focusing on web development and never heard anything like this before. I'm not saying the information's not out there I'm sure it is. I'm just now being exposed to it and I really like the way Chris is presenting it. I'm still early in the course but nice job so far!

He knows what he is talking about, I have the newer version of Gimp the 2.10.30 because it told me to update it. It is kind of hard to stay up with him but I stop and start the video and find the tools he talks about. other than that I am grateful for this class. I have wanted to learn how to use Gimp, I have played around with it before and become frustrated with it. Thanks keep up the good work

I've never been comfortable doing web design because I didn't have the graphics design skills and at least when I was doing web pages (early 2000s) the state of web-development was like the stone ages. I'll eventually probably get Adobe Photoshop but at $520/year I prefer to learn the basics on something less expensive.

I did not experience the sensation of boredom during this course (though I didn't enjoy the Nike example much). I really enjoyed it and learnt a lot and Gimp no longer frustrates me as much as it did before the course. Thank you.

Instructor Goes over many details, the Lessons on the Nike project ok to start with the others being better. I hope the instructor takes a look at Affinity and creates courses for them. While I am not a Graphics designer, I'm a software architect, and I found this course very informative. Gimp is a potent tool, and you will learn proper technics and web design. What more can you ask for in course for this price? In short, this course gave me the tools I need to do an excellent job of designing and creating the effects I want. I already purchased some of Chris's other classes.

Spends too much time showing how to change GIMP's shortcuts so they are the same as Photoshop. Course is very inconsistent but still very informative.

Even though I like this guy and still trust him to give me value for my money there is some misinformation and disorganization going on with the content. Twisted my brain a good few times already looking for something I might have missed thats not to be found any way. Also some keyboard shortcut issues even though I installed his patch, and GIMP layout differs a bit on my WIN 10 from what I see on screen which also can be confusing. Another thing is our buddys audio volume that can differ quite a bit between lectures. Heads up for next time pal :) More importantly though, the value I'm looking for is still there and I've learned quite a bit already. I dont regret buying this course and I would recommend it to any one who want the skills that Chris teaches. As always Udemy ask for ratings far to early though so the real value lies up ahead for me.

We are only just getting started but the introductory skills section was valuable and succinct with the beginning of the website introduction showing similar qualities. Lots of compact useful analysis. I would add that I am listening at 1.5x for users that haven't realized that speeding it up can really help.
