I thought this was a decent introduction, but definitely was expecting a bit more from this course. It was great to learn about the differences in all those behaviours and their particularities, but again, I wanted more. The teacher was clearly knowledgeable, her delivery was clear and well paced. I enjoyed the material as I found it relevant, but the graphic presentations were dry and not engaging. I understand from the introduction the reasons for this choice and while I would like to learn more from Libby, I might be hesitant unfortunately before buying another course in this non-engaging format.

What inspired me about this course, is how simple it is and how gently it guides back to self-love. Simple means with less words, more knowledge given and this is something which only a master professional can do (amazing Libby!). Provided solutions to treat problems also are simple and extremely effective as they give the individual a mighty tool to manage his issues while bringing him back self-confidence and the focus within himself (by putting him in self-observation, self-acceptance and self-care). Thank you so much, Libby!

The course is useful as a beginning, rather than a foundation for dealing with the addictions of others in a professional capacity. It has useful information, delivered in a manner that is easy to understand, however, I would prefer more academic input, such as assignments and project research. Someone with limited, or no study in psychology would find it very interesting as a first level of study. Worth completing, but not enough for delivering counselling services to others initially. The later units were a good update on my Psychology A Level, studied for with Sociology in 1992. It is well worth doing this whole course, and personally, I disagree with some students who have criticised the use of cartoon characters. This does not reduce the content of the material, and has not been a point of criticism in my view. I have paid larger sums of money for courses with less purpose than this one, and for the price, it was a reasonable investment in future career development decisions.

This basically an overview of different but related subjects: habit formation, impulsiveness, compulsions and substance dependence. Don't expect a lot of detail into the specifics on how to deal or overcome this, but the course can indeed help you understand your issue a little bit better. It's interesting and easy to watch, but adjust your expectations about what you'll get out of it.

Clearly produced by an expert in behavioural sciences. A psycho-logical look at why and what we can do to change our behaviours positively. Recommended for anyone who thinks they may have a habit or an unhealthy compulsion. The first step is to admit you have an issue and then changing can commence. Good Luck to everyone who is choosing to make positive healthy changes to their lifes.

This course is a very comprehensive course on "Kicking Bad Behaviors." It starts by introducing us to the differences between habits, compulsions, and dependencies or addictions. Throughout the course, Libby gives us a good explanation of the root causes of these behaviors and how to identify them. We learn that will power takes a lot of energy to maintain, and that it is not through a constant effort of will power that we will overcome our bad behaviors, but, rather, a strategy to last us in the long term. Using will power on the que that a bad habit is about to be enacted, negative reinforcement when a bad habit occurs, replacing bad habits with good ones, or removing the thing like a cookie that would cause us to enact the bad habit are all very good strategies mentioned in this course. Libby takes care to talk about how compulsions are different than bad behaviors because they have anxiety attached, and need to be lessened and/or changed over a long period of time in small increments in order to deal with. Impulse control may be our issue and learning when impulsive behaviors are happening and when they are appropriate will help us understand how to behave in a healthier manner. When it comes to substance dependence, we learn that the physical effects and mental effects are something that have to be dealt with holistically. Simply going off of a substance "cold turkey" could be very dangerous. It is important to remember that failure will happen at times, but we should still aim for more successes than failures. Make sure that we celebrate our victories, and not get overwhelmed with the often lengthy process of treating a bad habit. Overall, learning to mindfully live is key in "Kicking Bad Behaviors" and the like. Thank you, Libby for another wonderfully helpful lesson! :-)

Hugely informative and actually surprisingly enjoyable. I did have doubts to it perhaps being quite preachy, but it isn't at all. I always felt like I was being told of when I read things on cutting back on alcohol or stuff, but this course wasn't at all like that, so big thank you for that. People don't want to be told off like a small child when they need to make changes in their lives. We need support and comfort and practical strategies. Well this delivers on all of those points!

Libby has really impressed me with the content and presentation of this course and you can tell that she has a deeply caring nature and a strong appetite for helping those who need it. This course is very comprehensive in offering readers and listeners the option of learning how to conquer any negativity, habits and compulsions that they have. This course offers you the opportunity to improve your lives and get rid of something that you surely don't need. Thank you LIBBY for compiling this great course.

Suprised (Pleasantly so) at how mallable the course metarial was. You really could use it to apply kicking negative habits of any kind. I have a hideous issue with chocloate which doesn't sound a problem of gigantic scale but it is affecting my weight and my skin and mainly my mood. I really don't want to be a slave to the cocoa bean anylonger!!!!!!
