Once you're finished you will have a fully functioning Mobile-Friendly Offline-Capable app that's built optimally with a clean, readable and well performing code base.

You will learn best practices along with seeing the methodology of building a full application piece by piece!

Don't stress if you don't know how to play Sudoku, it's quick to figure out and this course will explain it early on.

Disclaimer:

create-react-app has been updated since this course was first recorded so the service workers portion of this course has been removed if you start building a new app from scratch. However if you want to experience that part of this course you can start from the GitHub links provided instead of starting from scratch.

It is also worth noting that this is not for complete beginners! We do assume you have a basic working experience with React. If you're brand new to React, do some foundation learning before picking up this course. Most negative reviews for this course come from learners who didn't read this part of the course description.

Lol, that last bit I was trying to solve the puzzle before you, but I lost by a couple of seconds. Fun course and definitely more comfortable with TypeScript for it - my only criticism would be it doesn't explain TypeScript or the 'why' as much as I would have liked. You might be a little lost at the end if you are not familiar with a strictly typed language like Java, or OOP in general. But overall a great course, esp if you're just trying to get an overall idea of how things are wired up in a 'TS in React' application. Cheers, Barry!

Clearly the instructor is a seasoned developer who has an intimate knowledge of the subject matter. What is lacking is the ability to teach the subject matter in a clear and concise manner. As presented, the course is best described as: 'Here's how you can use the different technologies I'm presenting'. Initially I enjoyed this course. Several times I was frustrated with the lack of continuity, the back and forth in files, his naming conventions, while keeping imports short seeds confusion as in 'which index file am I editing?'. I would not call any of these a best practises. Barry does cover the course targets as he's laid them out, but doesn't delve into any details about the technology demonstrated. There's plenty of how to do it but not enough of why we do it this way. Finally, this course suffers from a lack of planning. There is no script, rather a stream of consciousness dialog that describes what he is doing. If you want to learn how to implement a game using the technology listed then this is the course for you. If you want to gain best practices in React/Redux/Typescript, there are better courses available.

Greate to learn how to test program in react. However, it would be better if the course had detailed explanation of each lecture. For instance, what we are gonna do this in this course.... Without it, sometimes I was confused where I was in the course and what I was doing.... Some more Diagrams or flows of this course would be helpful a lot to understand this course.

Really really great course from a programming perspective, I learned a LOT of new material here about combining these technologies. The instructor does do some backtracking and isn't always the best at explaining some of the more complex programming stuff, but if you're not a complete beginner with Typescript or Redux in a React context you should be able to follow along pretty well. Not a perfect course, but highly recommended nonetheless!

I enjoyed the course partially and felt frustrated at times. I'm relatively new to typeScript so I had expected a lot more detailed explanations, for example, why are specific types annotated for Dispatch function, use of useSelector, why are we going with react-redux and not redux toolkit. Also, I felt the grid algorithm wasn't clearly explained, and lots of redundancy in the whole project. You could have made the course longer and covered all the points.

This was a good course, but I need to give you some actionable feedback. I learned a lot, and I will be able to put this knowledge to use, but I thought you might benefit from some advice from an old school coder. 1) This nonsense about alphabetizing was VERY confusing. Code should be organized to follow a natural flow, and ordering things alphabetically (for no really good reason) interrupts that clean flow. It is better to group imports visually so that the rationale for the imports are clear and organized. Even so with functional or other parameters: there are natural orderings that might make more sense. 2) The split-screen editor was not a great idea. Better to have one big editor to improve readability and never have a situation where code is scrolled off and unreadable whilst we attempt to follow. One editor - BIGGER FONT, please.

As a back-end developer and knowing nothing of React, this was quite a lot of fun to work on -- it helps that I also enjoy playing sudoku! I didn't even get all the way through the tutorial before I'd modified the app to allow for "notes", where you can type in some _possible_ answers and it'll show them (smaller, and different color) in the field until you enter your "guess" and it replaces the notes in the field! ^ . ^

Very helpful in terms of content, there were a number of-the-moment technologies I became familiar with a result of the course. Can be hard to code along sometimes but I understand why the instructor needed to go fast. Almost needed a way to autogenerate index.ts files because there were so many of them but it all made sense. Definitely worth it, thanks for the content, I'll be looking up your video on deploying to Github pages

First things first, please add a section for building a normal website including routing and backend integration !!!!! I think this course is very suitable for developers has more than 1 year experience in front end development. The course provided a very good code structure and cover a wide range of practical knowledge used in daily front end development. 6 hours video can absolutely improve your understanding in front end development. It is a little bit difficult for new learners to get max value in this course. The course will not go through every details and actually progress really fast. The new learner may feel frustrated if they failed too much. I strongly suggest you start from some fundamental courses before try this one. The resolution of video can be improved and the teacher's tone can be more active to make students have a better learning experience. For me, the tutor's voice make me feel like he just finished his day time work and try to finish this course asap to make some pocket money. But the actual content is very valuable to me. Overall, very good course if you wanna learn ts in react.

A great way to take your React skill to the next level as compared to taking a course that makes a TODO list. I am interested in styled components and this course provides a practical way to learn to use the styled-components module to make a professional-looking app. Thanks! There is an expectation that you have done some React programming already and understand how to create a React app and can follow someone creating a React app from scratch without needing an explanation of what 'npm install ' means, as an example. If you have done a bit of React programming, then you will know those things already. In addition to TypeScript, I also learned how to use Redux state management through this course, and how to use Redux in combination with TypeScript. This makes the Redux interface strongly typed and less error-prone. Redux is used in this course to manage the Sudoku state and components interact with Redux frequently. The course also covers keyboard input to a React application. For example, processing the arrow keys to let a user move through a table on the screen. This is done using the react-hook-mousetrap npm module. That was another nice bonus and takeaway from the course.
