This is an Oracle-specific course for people who already write basic queries and want the next layer. The syllabus shows 18 sections, 146 lectures and about 14 hours covering sequences, synonyms, indexes, views, materialized views, advanced subqueries, privileges, hierarchical queries, regular expressions and analytic functions. The description pitches it at Oracle's SQL Expert certification, and everything runs on Oracle's HR sample schema, so the examples stay consistent from start to finish. Despite the Expert Level label, the requirements only ask for basic SQL.

Reviewers like the short lectures, the simple explanations and the steady supply of examples. One says the first half is theoretical but the second half turns very practical. The complaints are just as consistent. Lower-star reviewers say the instructor team, Database Masters, mostly reads slides aloud in a monotone, and one found the pronunciation hard to follow. Others point to spelling mistakes in the slides and quizzes, a lack of practice exercises, and little explanation of when you would actually reach for an index or a view at work.

The course is absolutely fantastic but it will be better if some exercise are present to perform the queries. Moreover it will be the best if the instructor told where to use and how to use those queries using examples or readymade questions . Overall for learning purpose the course is outstanding. The instructor really knows SQL, can explain it well and gives good examples. The course covers the important topics for advanced SQL usage well. His style of English language usage is rather unconventional but that did not cause me any problems at all with understanding him.
