Course Description
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
It is the whole point. This course teaches an AI-first testing workflow, and the course itself was produced with it: AI-assisted scripts, narration, translations, and code, all reviewed and directed by a human instructor. What you see on screen is what the workflow actually produces.
Automated API testing is one of the most in-demand, best-paid skills in QA and software testing today — and here is why. Modern software is not one program. It is dozens of services, systems, and components talking to each other over APIs. API testing is how you verify that communication: the right request goes in, the right response comes back, the correct status code, the correct JSON, correct error handling — every single time. It is integration testing at the level where real systems actually break.
This is a hands-on, AI-first API test automation course. You will learn to do it the way senior QA, backend, and SDET engineers actually work in 2026 — read the OpenAPI spec, direct an AI IDE to generate the tests, and wire everything into a CI/CD pipeline that runs automatically on every push.
You will test one real REST API — TechShop — using four different tools and approaches: Postman with MCP, Bruno, Python + pytest, and Robot Framework. Across the suites you validate endpoints, HTTP methods, status codes, JSON response bodies, headers, authentication, and error handling — plus the integration paths where one endpoint depends on another. The same five bugs are planted in the API. All four suites find all five. By the end you will know which tool fits which team and context — not from theory, but from having run them all yourself.
What you will produce:
- A Postman collection built directly in your workspace via MCP — no file, no import
- A Bruno collection as plain .bru files in your Git repository
- A Python + pytest test suite with fixtures, parametrize, and an HTML report
- A Robot Framework suite with keyword-driven tests and a detailed execution log
- Endpoint, status-code, and JSON response assertions across every suite
- A GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline running all four suites automatically on every push
- Structured bug reports generated from test output with your AI IDE
- Refactored test suites applying professional best practices using reusable AI skills
Tools you will use:
- Cursor and Antigravity IDE
- Postman + Postman MCP server + Newman CLI
- Bruno desktop app + Bruno CLI
- Python + pytest + requests
- Robot Framework + RequestsLibrary
- GitHub Actions
Every tool has a free tier. You do not need to spend anything beyond the course.
What you will learn to test:
- REST API endpoints — GET, POST, PUT, DELETE — and what each should return
- HTTP status codes and why the wrong one is a real bug
- JSON response bodies, fields, and data validation
- Authentication, headers, and error responses
- Integration between endpoints — testing the communication between components, not just one call in isolation
- Positive, negative, and edge cases for every route
What makes this course different:
Most API testing courses teach one tool. This course teaches four — against the same API, with the same bugs — so you can make an informed decision for your own team. You will also see how AI integration varies across tools: Postman requires MCP configuration, Bruno needs nothing because it is file-based, Python is the most natural fit because AI was built to write code. Understanding those differences changes how you work day to day.
Who this course is for:
- Manual testers who want to move into API and integration test automation
- QA and automation engineers who know one tool and want the full landscape
- Backend and full-stack developers who want automated coverage on their REST APIs
- Aspiring SDETs and DevOps engineers who need API tests running in CI/CD
- Students who completed the Manual Vibe Testing course and want to go deeper
You do not need to write code from scratch. You need to understand what the API should do — your AI IDE handles the generation.

I'm Martin Homola, a Senior QA Engineer with over 10 years of experience in software quality assurance across enterprise, pharma, finance, and e-commerce.
I hold a Master's degree in Information Technologies from the University of Economics, Prague, and AWS certifications in Cloud and Solutions Architecture.
Throughout my career I have seen one thing stay constant: the testers who thrive are the ones who adapt. In 2024 and 2025, AI tools fundamentally changed what a manual tester can produce in a day — and I built this course to make sure you are ahead of that shift, not catching up to it.
This course is the practical, hands-on guide I wish had existed when AI tools started changing the testing landscape. Everything I teach comes from real projects, real bugs, and real workflows — not theory.
My goal is simple: by the end of this course, you will test faster, document better, and walk into any QA role with a toolkit that most testers in 2026 do not yet have.

I’m an API tester and this helped me save time. The AI tools are real game changers. The course is short but packed. The automation was a nice touch. Easy to follow, even if you’re busy. 5 stars.

Okay, this was better than expected. I thought it would be basic but it’s practical. 3 AI tools? That’s enough for 2 hours but they did it well. No boring stuff. Just automate and learn. Good stuff.

So good. No fluff at all. I hate when API courses drag on for days. This was straight to the point. The automation part with AI is really cool. Highly recommend if you’re tired of manual API testing.

Easy to follow! I’m not super techy but I got it. The way they explain the 3 AI tools is simple. The automation features are impressive. I wish there were more courses like this that respect our time.

Wow, only 2 hours? I expected more but actually it was perfect. I didn’t want to sit there for days. I learned a lot about AI for API testing. The automation videos in the course are cool. Thanks for making it simple.

Really enjoyed this course. It is very practical, and I liked that it covered 4 different AI tools for API testing instead of just focusing on one. Made it easy to see how each tool actually fits into real testing work, not just theory. Would recommend if you want something hands-on.

This API testing course is practical, easy to follow, and focused on real-world skills. It covers four widely used API testing approaches and demonstrates how to use AI tools to simplify and speed up the testing process. The hands-on examples and practical project make learning engaging and help reinforce the concepts. A great course for anyone looking to build API testing skills efficiently with the support of AI.

I recently completed a course on API testing, and it gave me a much clearer, more confident understanding of the process. I expected it to be complex and hard to follow, but the course explained concepts like requests, responses, status codes, and endpoint validation in a simple, practical way. Working through real examples made testing APIs feel far less intimidating and much more manageable. By the end, I didn't just learn the mechanics — I gained real confidence in my ability to test APIs effectively. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a clear, hands-on introduction to API testing.

Really solid course, honestly one of the better ones I've taken on API testing. What I liked most is that it doesn't just throw AI in as a buzzword it actually walks through 4 different tools and shows you where each one is genuinely useful (and where it isn't). Explanations are clear, pacing felt right, and the exercises actually made things stick instead of just repeating the lecture. Would recommend if you want to actually use AI in your testing work, not just hear about it.

Excellent description of the API tools and how to use them nowadays. Testing applications are easy to understand. Automation is not so difficult with AI anymore. Thank you for this positive course.
