- User-Flow Simulation using APIs
Course Description
Karate DSL - a framework for API automation testing, Performance, and Load testing. This framework is running on Java and using Apache HTTP client to perform Http connections. For the performance testing, Karate DSL has a very nice integration with the Gatling framework.
Karate has its own scripting language (DSL - Domain Specific Language), which is pretty simple and can be picked up by people who don't have coding experience. It looks like the Cucumber framework, but it only looks like that. The framework has a predefined set of scripting commands for any operation you might need during interaction with APIs. Also, the framework has native support of JAVA and JavaScript programming languages, so you can create any custom methods and use it in Karate if you need it.
The key advantages of the framework:
Own easy scripting language. You don't need to have coding skills to start writing tests
Native JavaScript support and JSON objects (forget about parsers)
Very powerful assertions and JSON schema validation
Parallel execution (it's very fast)
Integration with Gatling for Performance testing
What you will learn:
Basics: what is API and JSON objects. You ll have a clear understanding of the concept of how API works and how to work with JSON objects
How to set up and configure Karate framework from scratch
How to perform GET, POST, PUT, DELETE requests
How to make powerful assertions for API responses, traverse through JSON objects, fuzzy matching assertions, and JSON schema validation
How to chain API calls, re-use API response to form new API request
How to generate random test data, use this test data in API requests
How to handle authorization headers, access tokens
Before/After hooks, parallel test execution, conditional testing, data-driven testing
How to use Karate scripts for Performance and Load Testing with Gatling framework
Karate DSL is a really great framework for API Automation and my Number 1 choice.

I have been enjoying this course very much. I am new to java and had somewhat of a learning curve in the beginning. Artem has been awesome, as well as patient, responding to help me through my issues. I have learned from them and so glad that I am sticking with it. Thank you Artem. I'm betting I'll have some more learning experiences too in the work ahead. :)

This course helped me a lot. The course structure is very organized, and the teacher has a very good methodology to teach - everything is explained in detail, and focused in the practice scenarios, with real life examples. Artem was always there to answer my questions, and I could see that he put real effort to help me debug my own project to see why it was causing some errors (not many teachers would do that for you!). I feel prepared to work with KarateDSL, and motivated to practice even more. Thanks again, Artem.

I really appreciate the complete overview from project setup and management, walking through the use of docker for test execution, combining karate with gatling for emulating virtual users executing the actions previous built in the karate scenarios. A few details between lessons were missing but with some debug and positive mindset its possible to overcome and move on.

@Test void testParallel() { Results results = Runner.path("classpath:conduitApp") //.outputCucumberJson(true) .parallel(5); assertEquals(0, results.getFailCount(), results.getErrorMessages()); } when we download the project framework comes with that code but later when we amend ConduitTest.java with Karate testAll() methods we have to delete it otherwise it gives thread count error

Excellent tour of the core features within the Karate framework for API testing. All the content here largely met or exceeded my expectations. I would, however be impressed to see that performance testing with Gatling section to reworked to a more recent version that uses Java instead of Scala. I feel like adding Scala to the already heavy polyglot experience of the Karate DSL, Java, and JavaScript becomes a bit much in the end, especially when some of the implementation is already out of date. Still a great intro and demonstration of the overall concepts that might even be worthy of a course of its own.

This is great class that covers all the topic that you need to know related to Karate. While I was taking this course, I was working on my real life project. All the issues I faced for my live project were actually explained in this training course clearly. I'm able to complete my work project with the help of this course. Our instructor, Artem is awesome. During the course, for any questions I asked/posted, he was always super responsive and provided the detailed and logical explanation to help resolve the issues! I highly recommend this course if you want to learn Karate. It's absolutely worth of the time and effort. The ROI is incredible. Artem, you ROCK! Thank so much for this great class!

The best course I have ever taken on Udemy. Artem is true to its promise of taking you from zero to hero in Karate framework with this course. Karate itself is of course a bit evolved since the creation of this course so you may find some inconsistencies that you can easily solve by going back to the documentation. Artem is very responsive with the questions you may have but some advanced concepts being described in the later modules may require you to go a bit beyond your comfort zone and learn new things as it did happen to me and for that I am grateful but even if you're not able to understand 100% of the topics covered by the course which is absolutely normal considering some of them of pretty advanced, you will learn enough to perform duties any real world workplace requires you to do just by understanding the main concepts taught in the course as I did in my new role as an API test automation engineer.

Had an amazing experience learning the course with Artem. Not only he delivered the contents properly but also he responded to each of the query posted via message within less than 12 hours. The Karate community is very helpful as well. Would definitely recommend this course to everyone even if you have 0 knowledge before taking the course. Thanks Artem for such a wonderful course. Looking forward to add your Cypress course to my list :)

Very good course that I would recommend to everybody who want to start with Karate DSL. I would have give five stars if I did not have some problem setting up my Windows Karate DSL environment, because by default I was using PowerShell instead of command line. It took me a long time and searching the internet before I found out this could be the issue.

I have been using Karate-dsl now and then for a few years and was interested in how the integration with Gatling worked and also taking the opportunity to pick up some basic features that I may have missed. Artem is a good teacher who pedagogically takes you through the course step by step from the basic functions to more advanced parts. If you are interested in api testing with Karate-dsl, this is the course for you.
