Course Description
Playwright - test automation framework developed by Microsoft. Modern, highly customizable and reliable.
This class covers all fundamental concepts of the framework. We begin from scratch, starting with setup and configuration and then a hands-on framework overview to familiarize yourself with the environment. Then from lesson to lesson, we slowly increase complexity. All lessons have a logical progression and are connected. The next lesson in the section builds up a new concept on top of what was learned in the previous lesson. This is also related to the code demonstrated in the class. We will have two test applications, and slowly over the course will add more and more code uncovering new topics.
How to follow the class
Watch all lessons in the order they have been published. Write the code from the class along with me. If needed, pause the video to complete the code. Practicing - is the best way to learn. Also, I would recommend watching the lessons in full-screen mode because sometimes the text on the screen can be small and hard to read. If you skip lessons or watch them not in order, be ready that you may have a feeling of a knowledge gap, or that something is not clear.
What you will learn:
How to install Playwright from scratch as a new independent project or add to an existing front-end application project.
JavaScript Fundamentals in case you are a beginner to programming.
How to run tests using the command line interface, UI mode, Playwright extension, and debug tests
How to organize tests, structure tests, use test hooks
HTML terminology, locator syntax rules, and Playwright best practices to locate web elements.
Different types of assertions, how auto-waiting concept works, and how to configure different timeouts.
How to work with different UI components, such as input fields, radio buttons, checkboxes, lists, tooltips, dialog boxes, date pickers, web tables, iFrames, sliders, drag and drop.
What is the Page Object Model. How to organize test framework code with Page Objects. Recommended architecture for Page Object model with Playwright
How to work with APIs: API mocking, API requests, intercept API calls, shared storage state, API authentication
Multiple advanced topics: fixtures, global setup and teardown, parallel execution, test tags, test retries, visual testing, mobile device emulation, reporters, environment variables, and test execution in Docker container.
By the end of the class, you'll be familiar with all important Playwright concepts to be able to automate pretty much any web application.

Stable and calm voice. And this course covers a lot! I liked that some fails were still present when we run some of the tests. And then there was a walkthrough on how to troubleshoot. So do not remove these in order to make the lection "perfect". What maybe could have been good is to have a complete setup with correct files available. At some point I had totally ruined my own files and then it was hard to follow as everything pretty much happened on the same tests.

Very good course for those new to Playwright and automation testing in general. Great introductory lessons to get us familiar with all the things that Playwright can do. I wish there were some additional explanations on why certain methods were used or why some of the coding examples were done the way they were. Sometimes I felt that I was following along, but not sure why we wrote the code specifically that way. Some googling was needed to determine best practices for the industry. But overall, fantastic course and very digestible. I would reccomend this course to anyone who wants to begin using Playwright. If you are already intermediate/advanced, check out his other courses instead.

This is definitely one of the best Playwright courses I've taken. The instructor focuses on what really matters—no unnecessary filler, just practical examples and best practices. The content is well-structured and takes you from the basics to more advanced topics in a clear and engaging way. If you want to learn Playwright the right way, I highly recommend this course.

Overall it is a good course and you can learn a lot from it. Maybe for APIs can be a bit improved in order to be shown how proper APIs can be tested without interact with UI in tests, only at the backend level. Good course and thank you Artem

I was new to the test automation, Git and TypeScript. This course was ideal choice for me. It is self-containing and not overwhelming at the same time. Artem explains everything perfectly and steadily. Although I knew about wonderful opportunity to reach the author with questions, I didn't feel need for it. Everything was either explained, or was solvable on my own with the help of Claude and Google. Great thank you, Artem. And of course, I don't plan to stop. This course was a first small step in my automation testing journey.

This is one of the best Playwright courses I've taken. The explanations are clear, well-structured, and easy to follow, even for someone transitioning from another automation framework. I especially liked the practical examples and real-world scenarios, which helped me understand not only how to use Playwright but also why certain approaches and best practices are important. The instructor explains concepts step by step, making complex topics such as Page Object Model, API testing, fixtures, and framework design much easier to understand. I now feel much more confident writing maintainable Playwright tests. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn Playwright from scratch or improve their existing automation skills.

Overall: A very well-structured course that covers a significant amount of ground. The practical examples were excellent throughout the sessions and played a key role in helping me grasp the core concepts quickly and effectively. Suggestion for improvement: While the content is high quality, I believe the API automation section could be even stronger. I would recommend adding an end-to-end automation project that bridges both UI and API testing. Applying the advanced concepts from Chapters #61 to #76 within the context of a cohesive, real-world project would greatly help students see how these components interact in a production environment. Final Verdict: Highly recommended for anyone looking to build a strong, comprehensive foundation in automation.

The explanations are clear and straight to the point, and the pace feels just right. It helped me understand not only how Playwright works, but also how to structure tests in a clean and maintainable way. Great course.

The course is incredibly clear and useful. The only difference I would have liked to see is the Advanced section. Despite being the longest single part of the course, its content is less relevant towards the end of the course. It is suitable for concepts like visual and mobile testing, virtualization, or setting up custom reporting. But in my opinion, it would be better to focus on project setup/teardown and setting up Github Actions earlier, e.g. when the main UI test pack is ready (before POM and API). In this case, you have a feel for the project and will be much more familiar with the framework, as you will definitely encounter some problems with setting it up. So, after you overcome the problems and make this magic work, you will be a little more ready for the advanced concepts, they will make more sense, and you will also be less overwhelmed by the number of potential (but very likely) problems you will encounter in the Advanced section.

This's an awesome good structured course. It provides enough information to start writing the first test. Some parts of course (API testing and Advance) might be updated (nice to have), because the difference in versions causes issues
