Course Description

Kanban is not a software development lifecycle methodology or an approach to project management.

It requires that some process is already in place so that Kanban can be applied to

incrementally change the underlying process.

—David Anderson, Kanban

Kanban is a popular framework used to implement agile and DevOps software development. It requires real-time communication of capacity and full transparency of work. Work items are represented visually on a kanban board, allowing team members to see the state of every piece of work at any time.

A Kanban board is an agile project management tool designed to help visualize work, limit work-in-progress, and maximize efficiency (or flow).

It can help both agile and DevOps teams establish order in their daily work. Kanban boards use cards, columns, and continuous improvement to help technology and service teams commit to the right amount of work, and get it done!

This course will help you explore how working on an Agile project using Kanban has benefits for your development team, your end users, and your organization as a whole.

We will identify various process flow related issues including too much work in progress, underutilization of resources, lengthy tasks, unequal sized tasks etc. using simple and easy to understand demonstrations on Kanban board.

We will not only identify these inefficiencies but also solve for the same by continuously improving the process flow using Kanban Board.

I subscribed to this course looking for a solid introduction to the Kanban method, and I think it delivered on that goal. The second part, covering Agile concepts, also serves as great introductory material. My only remark is that the two sections feel somewhat disjointed—almost as if they were two different courses. All in all, good work!

The content was well-structured, practical, and easy to follow. It provided clear explanations and real-world examples that helped me understand Kanban concepts deeply.

Un des cours les plus complets que j'ai pu faire sur ce sujet. Très bon équilibre en theorie, pratique avec des exercices en parallèles (pour ceux aussi qui n'ont pas les outils agiles appropriés). Bon découpage des sections et rythme globale.

Refresher course as I am now working as product owner for web based products. Hoping to help streamline workflow and also forecast pending work. It is also a way for me to reframe my thinking from PM to Product Owner to monitor thru put. As PM we are focused on deadlines, as Product Owner we are focused on thru put of transforming customers with high value features.

The information about Kanban was good, informative, and well explained. There were several things later in the course that seemed more related to Scrum, though, which did not seem to fit in with a course on Kanban. As I'm familiar with Scrum, this was fine with me, but may be confusing for someone unfamiliar with the differences between the two methodologies. This is why I put 4 stars instead of 5.

Se trata de un curso sencillo y claramente centrado en el uso de Kanban. Una herramienta aceptable que exige sólo un conocimiento básico de inglés (if you read English and you understand that, is ok). Echo mucho de menos la falta de inclusión de más ejercicios prácticos y test, que permitirían autoevaluar y aclarar conceptos.

By Israel Oliver Hernández Ambrosio on 8/7/2023

By Anonymized User on 5/11/2022

The course is complete, good, understandable. But the "key agile concepts" are not key agile concepts, they are an introduction to some aspects of Scrum. Which is weird, as in Kanban we do not even have to have sprints, so which sense does it have to learn how to calculate velocity per Sprint (for example, there are many). Section 6 is superfluous and misleading.

I have already buyed another course: the terms are well explained, with a lot of examples and techical terminology. I really enjoy this course and the teacher is well prepared.

By Griselda Mueller on 5/21/2021

This course explains very in detail the Kanban framework. This course includes many concepts that other online courses of Kanban don't have. I'm very impressed with the good quality of the content. The narrator is aware of her Indian accent and that is why she mention this subject and tries to speaks very clear and makes the right pauses, so you can follow easily the course. I am very, very happy with this course.
