This course is good for someone who is just learning about a UNIX system. Since this specific system is from IBM, it runs on IBM hardware. And in this course, the instructor guides you through creating a VM in IBM cloud. This is great on its own. But then the rest of the course goes over many basic things in AIX, some of which are common with Linux distributions as well. The focus is mostly on things like permissions and doing mounts for devices. No networking or software management involved here.

At first when i was starting this course i really had no idea on how i should do this one or how i can follow it but on each an every lecture i was able to grab information on how i should this out what i liked the most is that the videos was much more clear to understand an well i really did. gave me more information to work this AIX environment more than before.

By Section 6 I was really starting to hit my stride of things I have a tenuous grasp of and wanted to learn about. I appreciate the time that was taken to show me the potential of the IBM Cloud services--I did not know that existed. On the Ownership and Permissions section, I would have liked to hear more about why an administrator would use these functions (i.e. best practices). Overall, I learned things that I did not know before, and that makes the time that was invested to make the content worth it. Thank you!

This is a good way to start learning AIX. I learned a lot of the basic AIX commands and server management. Demo might have been done in cloud but it is comparable to doing it on actual hardware. Hope to have more courses from this author. Thank you very much.

This course WAS for the absolute beginner. I'm glad I had a chance to practice on an AIX machine that will not get me fired; however a lot of this course is REAL basic (I've been a Solaris/RedHat engineer for over 10 years, but never touched AIX until now). I hope there are more AIX classes from this author. That being said, I've been practicing other activities with the cloud server and will probably keep it up for a while to practice.

The Course is very good for AIX beginners. Instructor has good knowledge on Administration of AIX. Few more things I think if added will make the course outstanding 1. AIX installation 2. Add Lans or Configure Lan 3. Backup and Restore procedures 4. Troubleshooting networks 5. Tuning using Topas and other tools I know the above are too much hence another course can be created for the same. Thanks again Adeel
