A good course to learn the fundamentals in trading, but by no means will this course make you a successful trader. The course also gives a good idea how to structure your own code to create your own trading bot. But again, it covers the basics, you won't come out of this will a fully fledged, self maintaining trading bot with an API to check its progress on your phone (for example). The python deep dive was handy as, although I've been programming for over two decades, I've never used Python. The course covers enough to learn the syntax differences to other languages, but doesn't go so deep as to sit through for the 1000th time how a for loop works. The course didn't provide more than I was expecting, but more importantly, didn't provide less. I appreciate Alex's down to earth approach to trading, making it very clear that it is very easy to lose money, as opposed to these "over sellers" promising riches overnight. If you're new to programming, you need to go do a programming course first. But if you're new to trading, then this course is for you. Looking forward to researching lots of different trading indicators and back testing them and coming up with my own strategy.

I started this course motivated by my degree proyect at the University, following an initial idea of doing something creative with trading, Finance and re-inforce my knowledge about market. Either it was a challenge for me programming in Python, I can say this course is TOP and helped me to develop a solid algorythm with good features and an amazing work that led me being creative and search for solutions in this way. Thank you Alexander, not just for this course, but also for being an inspiration for me (CFA will be my next goal, and I'll give my best to get it). If you have doubts of getting this course... Don't hesitate! This is the way for algorithmic trading!

This course exceeded my expectations, I like the way the instructor structured and explained everything, it's a comprehensive course which is definitely worth it's money. It takes you from level 0 if you are new to programming, there are hours upon hours of lessons teaching you every detail you need about using Pandas, Numpy and everything else that is used to finally build an automated trading system in the end. Another positive aspect is that every single line of code that is presented is also available for download, as well as .pdf files with presentations. I personally bought more courses from Alexander Hagmann, it feels invaluable to learn from someone with 10+ years of experience in the industry, definitely worth it if you are serious about learning Automated Trading, Data Analysis and to some degree Machine Learning, huge respect for the effort and enthusiasm of putting it all together.

This is the first course I took on udemy and the course is great. Alex is very good at explaining concepts through a clear, delicate and smooth way that makes difficult concepts simple and easy to understand. It's not so daunting anymore to follow a 30+ hour course under his patient guiding. I would recommend this course to anyone who is interested in knowing the basics of algorithm trading.

This is one of the best python algorithmic trading course on Udemy. I've gone through a number of the other courses and none of them come close to the detail and explanation that Alex provides. Many of the other courses do not clearly explain the specifics either on the python or trading side but Alex clearly is an expert in both and clearly explains all of the concepts in an easily digestible manner. Most importantly, he walks you through frameworks for both vectorized and iterative backtesting and a live trading system. It is a longer course but spend the time and you'll learn a lot.

The best course for beginners. Im an algorithmic trader I have created Machine learning strategies, deep learning stategies, pair trading strategies. Im working on a hedge fund right now. And this course was my first introductory to algorithmic trading a couple years ago. I have almost watched all algorithmic trading courses at udemy and no one compares with this course. This Is the best course I would recommend for beginners. Great course

Wow, this course was awesome. A perfect combination of coding using generic strategies that setup both an understanding of the principles but also a generic framework that can be reused and modified. Tons of ground covered with a great focus on the needed classes for trading rather than specifics on strategies. I'm excited to go back over the framework with my strategy and api (different).

Overall excellent course for introduction to algo trading. The python introduction course is also great for those needing a refresher on python basics. Docked 1 star because much of the content and code appears to have been copy and pasted from the book "Python for Algorithmic Trading From Idea to Cloud Deployment" by Yves Hilpisch with no credit to the author.

This course is excellent! It far exceeded my expectations. The course offers a relatively easy to understand, methodical approach to building up the students knowledge of how to implement a trading strategy in python. For those of us who have not been using python for years, a comprehensive and effective introduction to python, numpy, pandas and matplotlib is included.
