I was really excited to take this course. However, once I started watching the videos, it was disappointing. The course starts with a good overview of technical analysis. You learn some of the most common indicators and how to implement them in Python using equities such as Amazon, Microsoft, etc. The course derails when you get to the section of MT5. MT5 is for forex trading, and the whole focus shifts. If you live in the United States, you're unable to create an account for MT5, which makes this entire section useless. Not only that but when it comes to implementing your first strategy using Python and MT5, you basically get a Python script and told to try it out on your own, with no video to go over the material. Finally, I feel like the author focuses too much on providing a course where you get to build something for "free". While I value a good demo account to get your feet wet, in the end you're left with an incomplete course and a focus on DIY than actual trading strategies.

- The intro to and reminders of basic financial concepts (relevant fundamental numbers and technical indicator details) are great. (Given that I am a beginner in this field, it was valuable.) - The "cloud deployment" part is a good compromise between simplicity and a proper approach using the unix facilities for cron jobs, etc. - As many noted, the instructor does make mistakes and does "think through the code" in real time - that is not a minus in my opinion. It gives an insight into the actual workflow of development and shows that no expert will just know what to write, type it once and have it work perfectly. - From a software engineering perspective, there is a lot left to be desired but that is not the point of this course. With the tools and examples given, anyone who so desires can pour this into any kind of sophisticated software framework. - One drawback of the lacking software engineering is that a lot of code has to be duplicated and adjusted, e.g. when testing a different strategy. Many functionalities could be put in simple dedicated python files and imported every time they're needed. (With some parameterization to facilitate arbitrary use cases.) All in all, thanks a lot. For me it was worth the time.

concepts covered very well but live coding could be much better than explaining the written code. Finally Tq for giving more insights

This course was absolutely fantastic. I learned everything I was looking for and then some. The instructor put so much time and effort into preparing these lectures and coursework. He takes you through each line of code step by step, explains the necessary concepts behind them and offers tons of supplemental information. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking to get started in quantitative finance, even if you are not well versed in Python yet. You will be by the end of this course.

Having had some more formal education in object based programming I was looking to finally bridge the gap into the financial sector. This course went above and beyond what I had anticipated and delivered on so many levels. It has left a lot for me to work on moving forward and I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is new to programming with a financial focus. Mayank was very prompt and helpful with any questions I had and he presented the material in an easy to digest format while leaving lots of room for independent work and updates to the code he presented.

In summary, I very much enjoyed this course. It had a good mix of python code buildouts but also some good explanation about various financial metrics/KPI's. I also enjoyed the machine learning sentiment analyzer for oil prices quite a lot and plan to use that application. The main area I would have liked to see built out more is regarding the final algorithmic code. It seemed there was a lot of buildup to only having 1 algorithm (sma crossover strategy for currency) and I would have liked to see additional algorithms built out and their real results displayed.

Great course! This course provides detailed information on setting up automated trading based on our own strategies. Best part is how Mayank goes through the code step by step, so that we know how to edit the code to suit our own strategies. A basic level of python is recommended, actually as long as you know dataframe and dict I think its more than enough to enroll. For me, this course kills two birds with one stone, I am able to both deepen my python knowledge and learn about trading simultaneously.

Mayank provides an excellent overview of implementing trading strategies with python for a great value. The plethora of resources(libs, articles, etc) and concepts demonstrated in the course are great primers to understand python's powerful functionality and how it can be applied to trading. As a side note, Mayank makes himself very approachable and the robust Q&A section is a tremendous resource for troubleshooting errors or gaining additional insight.

Seems like a VERY knowledgeable instructor and very experienced teacher. I DO have blurryness issue (even after I modified my monitor's settings to the max... I also have a good large monitor) At times, instructor speaks too fast FOR ME Also, instructor keeps asking me if {whatever} is right - or OK ... ("blah, blah, blah - right?") Too bad I have no way of responding to it and, if I could, I would never say "no" - as the instructor is the expert. Still, I am getting a lot out of the course and the course if very useful

This course has made me able to run several strategies on the cloud after backtesting them. That was my objective for this year and I thought it would be harder. Mayank explains the important concepts very clearly in each lesson and answer all the questions helping with all the problems I have encountered. While I was finishing the course he also actualized the first and second sections so he keeps the course updated. Thank you very much Mayank.
