I have wanted to learn to sign for years, but recently I met a new deaf friend and this has motivated me not just to want to learn to sign but to actually do it! So far your course has been wonderful as i feel I have already learned so much. I am looking forward to learning more

The mirroring takes some time to get used to,( it would be nice to hear someone tell you, how and where figures should be placed, especially people wanting to learn sign can usually hear) I couldn't always see the details of the hand movement when she or he is teaching, even when I slowed down the video. Since there is no sound, a person that can hear not using that first to follow along with the video, can through you off, if you are not warned beforehand everything will be in silence. Then, Understanding the quizzes and the layout took some time. I did not know the video for Quiz 2 was the exact answers for quiz 2. everything moved fast so they seemed to be like two different things. So when my screen changed and it showed true or false questions it made zero sense to me. Also, there should be a picture or video that goes along with the question on the same slide. Having all the questions be a video before, and then having all the answers be on the next video made more work.

This was one of the best decisions I've ever made in terms of learning. I had always been curious about learning sign language and I'm glad I finally did it. And completed it. It was extremely interesting. Erica is so amazing and helpful, she really assisted at the times I needed more clarity. Love it. Thank you.

My course didn't have any audio I couldn't hear anything it was silent. The whole course. Could be my computer as I found out the camera is broken so perhaps the audio is too :(

The videos are good, but subtitles or audio option would have been easier for beginners. I had to put the video on 0.5x speed to understand few parts. Overall a thumbs up .

The course was okay. It needs to connect the video and the quiz so they are in one place. It was frustrating trying to watch the video and then come back and answer the question. It made it so that you would get the questions wrong because you had to keep switching back and fourth. I wish it were more comprehensive and that you could see more conversation and figure out what they were saying by focusing on the conversation. Overall the course was okay.

what's confusing is the exam. you give a lesson without letting us know that the next step is the quiz. for example, when you do true and false quizzes, i had no idea that it would be for what was before the quiz. so how is one supposed to remember the order?

This course is great. The first chapter is dedicated to the history of ASL which helps bring this home that it is a Language, like any other, that includes culture and history. Note: write down the Vocab as it happens, including the shapes described in chapter 4 called Same/Different.

some of the steps were unclear and I found myself having to go back to figure out what was expected of me moving forward. I like that I could pause, practice, repeat. I also love that I can review over and over even after completing the course.

By Mimi Gates on 5/8/2015

I had hoped to learn about lising items and about directional verbs. Production quality was fine, and the instructor was clear. There is a glitch in Quiz 4 that does not allow me to finish it, therefore, I can not finish the course.
