I really enjoyed his teaching style and communication. I do wish there were some static visual guides I could access while watching. (Like bringing up the finger spelling chart, just for a quick reference).

I really liked how he included practice sessions so I could see someone singing since it looks very different being signed to than my perspective of signing. I found that very helpful. Great energy and he used previous signs like the numbers to count later on, putting the number signs into practice. I really enjoyed it.

I have taken the course on Youtube with Dr. Bridges, and I feel that I have a basic understanding of ASL, but I don't mind going over and over again to become comfortable enough to hold a complete conversation. That's going to take a while, but I love it.

great, I have a lot of deaf friends (they tell me they don't care capital D or little d but confirmed that some others do) who have taught me a bit of the culture already, so its cool that this teacher is very educated in the Deaf culture.

I loved taking this course. It was great to be able to go at my own pace and keep rewatching and practicing. I learned more than I thought I would for a basic course. My only suggestion would be that the instructor check his videos more carefully for errors and omissions. Also, when using the projector, it is difficult to make out color details. Can't wait to take the next course!

I really enjoyed the course, I would have liked a few more lessons on basic sign spelling by the instructor and us following. But, that being said, I did enjoy the course and have got a basic beginner sign knowledge. Thank you

Dr. Capalonga is personable and efficient in his explanation and instruction of signing. I also appreciate the opportunity to go back and practice any lesson that has been presented. I find the conversational aspects of this course to be invaluable in understanding and learning to sign.

I really enjoyed this course and will continue to practice. I think it is a great beginning and am anxious to continue my learning. My only suggestion is when we were learning the colors, I couldn't distinguish the colors on the screen because they were very muted.

Amazing! I am a Special Education Teacher and had no idea about Deaf culture vs. hearing impairment. I even had a course on laws/politics/history of Special Education in Grad School and was taught incorrectly. Who knew?! Very cool info! Now I know :)

Wonderful course, I've been learning ASL for 2 years but I had a lot of difficulties but with the clear instruction from the teacher and his professional explaination, I feel more confident and do signs easier!!! I would love to take another course from this wonderful instructor if possible :)
