This is the big one for Angular on Udemy: about 56 hours, 762 lectures, and roughly 872,000 students since it launched in 2016. Maximilian Schwarzmüller reworked it around standalone components and signals, and the last update landed in April 2026. It assumes basic JavaScript and nothing else. TypeScript is taught along the way. The real audience is anyone who wants to learn Angular properly rather than quickly, including experienced front-end developers who want the full picture of the framework.

Reviewers keep coming back to the same praise: clear explanations that are easy to follow, and each section works like a small project. The rating breakdown backs that up, with about 139,000 five-star reviews out of roughly 225,000. The complaints are consistent too. Length is the big one, and one student says the videos could be fewer and longer. One four-star review wants more on testing, and another notes the deploy and SSR lectures still reference an older Angular version. Starting out at the age of 12 I never stopped learning new programming skills and languages. Early I started creating websites for friends and just for fun as well. Besides web development I also explored Python and other non-web-only languages. This passion has since lasted and lead to my decision of working as a freelance web developer and consultant. The success and fun I have in this job is immense and really keeps that passion burningly alive.

Starting web development on the backend (PHP with Laravel, NodeJS, Python) I also became more and more of a frontend developer using modern frameworks like React, Angular or VueJS in a lot of projects. I love both worlds nowadays!

I also build full-stack applications and acquired expert DevOps and cloud computing knowledge - proven by the many AWS certifications I hold (incl. the top-level Solutions Architect Professional certification).

As a self-taught developer I had the chance to broaden my horizon by studying Business Administration where I hold a Master's degree. That enabled me to work in a major strategy consultancy as well as a bank. While learning, that I enjoy development more than these fields, the time in this sector greatly improved my overall experience and skills.

The course is pretty feature-complete and updated since many years. Some parts like Testing - an essential part of Angular development - or Signals (course references ng 16 while ng 22 is available) could demand a little more attention.

Pros: The instructor has extensive knowledge and strong real-world experience, and it’s clear that a huge amount of effort was invested into this course. Cons: He demonstrates too many different approaches for the same solution, which can sometimes make learning new concepts challenging. I understand that this is part of the beauty of coding, but for beginners, it may make it harder to identify the core problem-solving logic and develop a clear thought process for arriving at a solution. Personally, I found the course most beneficial when I spent time reading Angular documentation and learning the theory behind each chapter before watching the videos. I also chose to focus on only one approach for each problem I encountered. If future companies use different approaches, I can learn and adapt to them later.

This course met my expectations. I am so happy that I decided to take it and complete it. Max is describing topics slowly (so that anyone can understand) and precisely (right to the point). Also, it is amazing that he explained how everything works under the hood. Recommend this course for anyone willing to learn modern Angular. Also this course helped me so much so that I was able to migrate FE at my company together with a friend from older Angular version to the latest one. Simultaneously adding signals, standalone components and more (as those things were not there in the old version of the app). All that using latest best practices.
