Most complete course on Kafka but it need to be updated as Zoo keeper is no longer used as Kraft is the new standard but all techniques describe in the course are valid for open source kafka. I like that it describes at least once , at most once and exactly once semantics

Mir redet er etwas zu viel über seine Text-Editoren, und die Mischung aus Java und Python in einem Kurs müsste nicht sein. Aber er erklärt die Konzepte recht gut.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first five sections, which definitely deserve a five-star rating. The explanations were clear, and the code examples were very beneficial as the basis for better understanding and further personal experiments. The later topics, which covered extensions and tools built on top of Kafka, didn’t give me the same level of solid understanding, however, they were still valuable and worth the time spent. Overall, I would highly recommend the course.

The Setup is clean, Docker compose file actually works.(I have struggled so much following YouTube tutorials, I'm almost 2years behind the learning schedule. :o ) However, it throws a platform error if you're on Mac you may add platform: linux/amd64 to all docker images for the fix. All topics are well explained and you can jump into a hands-on mode to get more out of this course. Though, I feel a more real-world project inclusion can take this to the next-level. Hope future updates get this. Good Luck!!

Very good content on Apache Kafka with code samples in Java and Python. The audio volume could have been on the higher side for easy listening and the instructor could have zoomed / increased font size while explaining code.

The Course is great source for beginners (like me) to make them familiar with Kafka, Faust and a like. Pros: - Knowledgeable Teacher - Good quality recordings. - Cover different languages that works with Kafka (Java & Python) and different API's and components (Kafka Admin, Producer, Consumer, Avro, Connect, Streams) Cons: - Not too much activity in the Q&A section. (both from students & from the teacher)

I'm a python & java dev, and got into projects at work that use kafka. I bought this course to help me hit the ground running, and I gotta say: there is so much value packed in one place. Excellent balance between theoretical & practical content. With the java exercises, I actually learned some Spring Boot techniques (not even the focus of this course). And I was also pleasantly surprised that for the Python exercises, he chose FastAPI ! (that tells you how well-prepared and up to date the instructor is). I totally recommend this. If anything, learning about the Schema Registry will transform how I approach Kafka-based projects from now on. And after this course, the perfect follow up is the "Designing event-driven systems" book (also recommended by the instructor). I had started reading it before, but I understand everything so much better after this course.

Not bad. But expected more cases of usages with modern databases and apps, especially Connect with column-based databases where there are no ACID operations by design. Also video content is not properly ready for publishing, there are mistakes in code and uncut moments like video recording pauses and exits.

course was good but not perfect. - faust is not maintained anymore, there is a fork, u should adress it. - when u code u have the windows describing a function, u halt to explain stuff, its annoying since i cant see what u are talking about it the code. - java streams seems to have more content than the python one.

This course was fantastic, however, the choice of python for me would have been better if confluent kafka python was used from the beginning as this is the version of python I used for my kafka development.
