Course Description

Hey all GuitarJoolz here and welcome to my latest course "Arpeggios for Guitar made Easy". Here you will find an easy way to learn arpeggios on guitar. By starting with triads and building upon them and adding them slowly to you guitar playing with the aid of exercises and jam tracks.

Arpeggios are basically chord patterns where the notes are played separately. This makes them so useful and essential for learning chords in different positions along the guitar neck, for understanding what notes to target in a guitar solo and also for creating ear pleasing melodies and licks. You can learn to play arpeggios all over the guitar neck more easily than most think.

It is not a subject that can be covered in a 20 minute section of an "all in one guitar course". It's a whole course, hence this one is 3 hours long, covers major, minor and touches on diminished/sevenths. I have carefully structured the course as you would in a "real" learning scenario, nothing is left out, there is no guess work and you will learn methodically, a little at a time until you fully understand the concepts. The subject is covered in total detail and you are also shown how to construct all of the patterns, with tab, note charts, interval charts, octave patterns, MP3 jam tracks all on screen and with downloads too!

You'll be learning arpeggios that can be used for jazz, blues, rock, metal, pop etc

There are many techniques in the course, ones you will be able to apply musically;  triplet and quadruplets patterns, all major and minor patterns and their inversions up and down the neck in 3,4,5 note per string patterns (i don't just give you the shapes! You have a strict regime to apply to a jam track that can be used in real life), arpeggio patterns following chord progressions, rock soloing ideas, neo-classical techniques, sweeps and pedal points, jazz ideas with passing tones, diminished and seventh shapes and also chordal ideas in the style of Rock and Pop bands such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kings of Leon, Strokes etc.

If you are questioning, "Is this course for me"? Well, it's for everyone, it assumes one has no knowledge of arpeggios at all and slowly shows all the steps needed to become advanced in their application. The course is not aimed solely at rock or jazz guitarists, its for everyone to apply these awesome techniques! Comprehensive explanations, clear examples, and slow breakdown (with on screen TAB and Standard Notation) in full HD closeups make it impossible not to have success!

This course is about the learner, not the instructor and i don't play a load of fancy licks to show off my skills and then say "now you try after downloading a tab"! It's complete, structured and learner focussed.

Take this course if;

- You want to fully comprehend TRIADS, one of the most important building blocks of all guitar playing.

- You want to understand how to play chords everywhere and want to be able to do it without the CAGED system.

- You don't know where to start with guitar soloing and melody creation and learn to play arpeggios on guitar for both rhythm and lead work.

- You are stuck in a rut with your playing and want to add some 'spice' to your licks.

- You want to understand the fundamentals of sweep picked arpeggios.

- You can play arpeggios but don't know how to apply or construct anything with them.

- You simply want to learn some fancy licks!

- You play music that requires twin guitar parts

- You want to understand the concepts of music harmony and triad construction.

- You like structure, jam tracks, full tab and a course that actually feels like having private lessons from a time served and dedicated guitar teacher.

I take many guitar course in Udemy, I can say this the best. No other course clearly explain and how to start with. This course really well structured and open my mind, and motivated me. Thanks Julian, you are the best teacher. I wrote this review after completed this course, and this is the only course that I follow and practice completely for each of lessons, each of them are very cool, enjoyable and difficulties are increased.

Hello Sir, I'm halfway through the course and I'm really enjoying it. Will this course help me to be a decent soloist and be able to play without thinking across the fretboard?

By Ewan Mearns on 8/1/2022

I found this was a great course. For me Julien's teaching style is great for learning theory stuff while still being accessible/relatable and good fun to play. This course has also been good for me for expanding my song writing ideas.

The instructor explains things very clearly, and I like that there are resources to download. I can print off the charts and tabs, and have them next to me while I watch the course. I can also download the backing tracks to play along to.

Loved this course , thank you Joolz. I knew the Caged system quite well before I bought this course but I wanted a bit more clarity on the Appregios within. Boom! There you have it. This course fills in all the gaps. No brainer. Great teacher and its not as slow as he thinks it is ;). Cheers Jools.

This course is a fantastic introduction to arpeggios! Guitar Joolz actually teaches you how to build triads on your own, instead of simply demonstrating ascending/ descending arpeggio patterns without explaining how or when to use them. The pacing is great - each lesson builds on the previous one bit by bit and doesn't leave you feeling overwhelmed. Thanks to this course, I can now play major and minor chords all the way up the fretboard. The course has also helped me in applying this knowledge of arpeggios in a practical context. For example, an 'aha' moment for me was when I realized that the intro solo of Fade to Black by Metallica uses a B minor arpeggio that can be played by using sweep picking instead of alternate picking. The only challenging thing about this course is that it is quite hard to play at the recommended speed (120bpm) - I feel that I am stuck at 100-110bpm and cannot play any faster - I wish Joolz provided more tips and tricks on how to increase speed. Lastly, I hope he releases a follow-up course to this one that goes into more detail on diminished and augmented triads. Keep up the great work, Joolz!

This course was extremely helpful in helping me to understand the fretboard and the "why" behind playing. I learned so much from these lessons that now I understand why notes are chosen in the songs I'm learning, how to form chords all over the fretboard, and this also helps to improve my improvising work. He has a bit of a rock focus and he plays with a plectrum. I play blues and jazz on acoustic with my fingers but I still was able to take what he was teaching and apply it to my style. Excellent course and I recommend it for anyone who is trying to better understand the fretboard.

He doesn't explain what he is showing you.

By Ken Spiby on 7/14/2019

Exceptional easy to follow. Jools knows his onions and pays attention to details, the only thing he can't do is play it for you. A very goods course with time this should give me a good working knowledge of the entire fretboard. Thanks Jools. Now I need to know how to use this stuff in various songs?

Good teacher, good content, logical progression to the teaching material, plenty of exercises to build your skills. It actually gets very musical with the earlier practices !! Well worth the time and the money !
