ASP.NET Core Identity - Authentication & Authorization [MVC] (Udemy.com)

The code is good but the complicated parts should have sufficient explanation with diagrams or any other helper method to give the student a clear idea about the logic behind, as an example the (RolesViewModel-ClaimsViewModel) classes and all the related proccess (Actions) inside the (UserController), the teacher was in hurry typing the code to finish that sections explaining in a few words, which shifted the load of understanding that proccess on a student, making courses is not only about demonstraiting a code but to explain and simpilfy all the concepts behaind which should be the purpose of making courses in first place.

SERIOUSLY need to provide code snippets for EVERYTHING, AND... add slides that show what to fix from version 5 to version 6 or 7. The differences BREAK the code in the videos. It's too bad 5 no longer exists. The instructor is quite good, but online should be flawless projects and it isn't.

I am a begineer but I don't get some of the reviews here. This is probably one of the few courses that goes this deep into this subject. I think Bhrugen's mistake is not to publish a list of "Prerequisite courses" prior to this one. Indeed, there are some lessons (on Role Management particularly) where there is not much explaining on the why's but you can do your own research. I also skipped to Scaffold Identity in Section 7 and basically discarded Section 2. This was an eye-opener for me.

Any explanations of any kind, only in the first videos a short explanation about what is authentication or authorization, nothing you cant find in the web. All the course goes on the code while he writes, any graphics or sequence diagrams or some explanations that can help to understand what he is doing...nothing. All is explained over the code as he goes. You don't never know what he does or why he does what he does, all is extemelly abstract. When he gets to external providers, any word about OAuth, again, he only types code without explanations or aclarations. If your are a beginner with asp.net core or with AuthN and AuthZ concepts with ASP.NET Core Identity, very soon you will get a point where you are completelly lost

A great course that covers from basic topics like logging in and having authorization to certain parts of the project, to more advanced topics such as claims, policies, authenticating with Facebook and more. I highly recommend this course to all Net developers who want to implement security in their projects.

The course covered good information, and gave me a better sense how to deal with Authentication & Authorization and how to work w/ ASP.NET in general. I don't like the video format, and the instructor went too fast to keep up w/. In addition, he relied some parts on copying & pasting code, and I don't learn the best unless I write things myself.

The use of visual aids enhances and reinforces not only the attention, but also the understanding of the main ideas of the subject matter at hand. Great lecture: Way to go! I quite enjoyed the custom MVC version of the built-in Identity Razor Library, Along the way, I have picked up additional tips and tricks on how to use the MVC routing functionality in a more efficient way. In my humble opinion, this is the course that any serious professional software developer should enroll in order to get a clear understanding of the ASP.NET Core Identity functionality.
