Course Description

This course covers everything you need to know about automation testing.

Starting by learning the basic concepts of Java, followed by learning how to test Web Applications using Selenium Webdriver, and then diving into the topic of unit testing, using Cucumber, TestNG and Junit. Following this video series should give you a very good understanding on what automation testing really means.

The objective of this course is to make you proficient in working with tools used by automation engineers. If your goal is to get a job as an automation engineer, this course would not just give you a solid preparation for the interview, but it will also provide the necessary knowledge in order to thrive at your new job.

The course has the following structure:

  • We learn Java together, as well as Object Oriented Programming principles. If you are already familiar with Java, you can skip this part.

  • We dive into the subject of design patterns, with the objective of learning how to manage complex, repeatable situations in our code. This will give us the expertise on how to design our code for scalable, memory efficient automation frameworks.

  • We then learn about Selenium, what it is and how to use it in testing Web Applications.

  • The last part concentrates on how to develop your own automation framework, using the newest technologies available for automation engineers.

By following this structure, as a beginner, you will be confident enough to apply for automation engineer jobs, having the knowledge of all the libraries we cover in this course. As a more experienced person, you will be ready to tackle topics such as creation of a new automation framework from scratch, using the design principles and the full potential of the technologies covered here.

As a general recommendation, in order to speed up the learning process, study the corresponding code snippets attached to each video. Start experimenting with it, by removing/adding stuff and see what happens. This will not only consolidate your knowledge, but it will help you understand deeply what the studied concept is about. There's nothing better than stumbling upon issues, investigate and troubleshoot them yourself!

I wish you a pleasant journey throughout the videos, and I hope you appreciate the content!

The course is not smooth on concepts. Sometimes the instructor refers to some complex concepts which he has not explained and assumes that we already know them! Given that he has started it from basic Java, it should be implied that each and every new concept in Java should be explained before using it in an exercise. Eg: He has used the Function concept in List exercise without even explaining what the hell the Function is doing. Without Google, I would not have been able to follow this course. So, bad screenplay and missing content.

The course is well-structured and interesting, with clear and detailed explanations. I had a bit of trouble setting things up on my Mac, even though there were some notes about installing on different systems. But I don’t really see that as a downside—stuff like that happens in real life too, and it’s a good way to get used to solving problems on your own. Full 5 stars from me, thank you for your course!

I did learn a lot. However: Coding exercises don't compile properly. Course is so old I can't even follow it. versions of intellij and selenium have changed so much the steps don't match the course content. Why is learning dropdown select "bonus content"?? Isn't the course supposed to teach what we need to know about automation testing?? Kept getting "Cannot resolve symbol 'springframework'" when trying to use filecopyutils so could not run the screenshot test. Also the code on video (like addFirstElement and addSecond functions in the homepage file) doesn't match the source zip file. in lec 130 I was looking for automation testing for Android apps specifically. I guess some of the stuff is transferable but not all. Wouldn't call it a "Masterclass".

Loved this course by Laurentiu Raducu! Course was very insightful and had hands on practice with code answer to check if we are correct. Instructor was also patient and responsive if we had any queries on our code. Thank you so much for this course!

It's an excellent course to start learning automation, designed for complete beginners in programming. It covers a wide range of technologies and stays up to date. The instructor is very quick and helpful in resolving queries. I highly recommend it to anyone starting out in this fascinating field.

Great Information and knowledgeable videos. But some of the videos are with very low audio so its hard to hear. Also Quiz and Exercise is awesome, but I think according to me you also should give the solution with explanation in the next video for each coding exercise. Also I have a question like which of the points are most important for Automation testing in this course? I'm Manual Software tester having 3 years of experience so I choose this course to learn basic Automation testing.

Benissimo: le spiegazioni sono chiare ed il tono di voce è pacato e comprensibile. Peccato la parte degli esercizi che non sono riuscita a risolvere e per cui essendo rimasta indietro forse non riesco ad ottenere la certificazione.

This is one of the best classes I have found on Udemy. I completed it several months ago and have returned often to reference the course materials. It is a very thorough overview of automation testing, as well as many other topics, and Laurentiu is an excellent instructor who is responsive, available, and willing to help. Great class! Thanks Laurentiu!

Awesome course on automation testing! Completed today after registering at the beginning of the week. I could not leave it for a day without following at least 2 hours of content.

By Mike Oneally on 5/21/2021

Great course overall! The last part on backend testing is really solid and contains relevant information for those who work within this field. I was also impressed by the part for configuring CI/CD pipeline for your automation framework, aspect that is not tackled in many courses. Good job!
