Course Description
Learn AWS from a Certified Architect – and Build Real-World Cloud Systems
AWS is the most widely used public cloud in the world — powering startups, enterprises, and governments alike. Cloud skills are no longer optional — they’re essential for developers, architects, and IT professionals.
In this hands-on course, taught by a certified AWS architect with 20+ years of experience, you'll go far beyond theory.
You'll build a full, modern, cloud-native system on AWS — step by step, service by service — gaining the practical skills and real-world knowledge you need to design and deploy cloud applications with confidence.
Why This Course Is Different
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Most AWS courses list services, show a few demos, and move on.
This course is project-based and practical. Together, we’ll build a fully working, cloud-hosted system called Readit — a fictional bookstore deployed on AWS.
You’ll get hands-on experience with EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Auto Scaling, and many more services — just like you would in a real job.
You won’t just learn what these services do — you’ll learn when and why to use them, how to combine them effectively, and how to make smart architecture decisions under real-world constraints.
What You’ll Learn
We start with the basics and build up to advanced concepts. Here’s a glimpse of what we’ll cover:
What is the cloud, and why AWS?
Navigating the AWS Console
Compute: EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS, and Elastic Beanstalk
Networking: VPC, Subnets, Security Groups, Route Tables, Load Balancers
Storage: S3, EBS, EFS, and Glacier
Databases: RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora
Messaging: SQS, SNS, EventBridge
Identity & Security: IAM, Roles, Policies, KMS, Secrets Manager
Monitoring & Logging: CloudWatch, CloudTrail
Cost Optimization and Budgeting
Disaster Recovery & High Availability
And much more...
Real-World Architecture in Action
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
As we build our cloud-based system, you'll see the architecture evolve from a simple virtual machine to a resilient, scalable, secure, and fully cloud-native application.
You’ll walk away not just understanding AWS — but being able to explain and justify your architecture decisions, like a real cloud architect.
AWS Architecture Summary Guide
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
At the end of the course, you’ll be able to download a comprehensive AWS Architecture Summary — a powerful cheat sheet that captures everything we’ve learned and helps you design and evaluate AWS systems long after the course is over.
I personally use it in my consulting work — and so should you.
Who Is This Course For?
= = = = = = = = = = = = =
Software Developers & Architects
DevOps & Sysadmins
IT Professionals moving to the cloud
Anyone who wants to deeply understand AWS, not just memorize it
Do I Need to Know Anything Before?
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Some basic development knowledge helps, but you don’t need to be an expert — and you don’t need any prior AWS experience. We start from the ground up.
All code is provided, and the system is built using .NET and Node.js — but even if you’ve never used them, you’ll be just fine.
About the Instructor
= = = = = = = = = = = =
I’ve been in the software industry for over 20 years and a cloud architect for more than 12. I’ve worked with startups, Fortune 100s, government agencies, and everything in between.
As a certified AWS architect, I’ve designed dozens of cloud-native systems for real-world clients — and I’ve taught hundreds of thousands of students how to do the same, both in-person and online.
Now I want to share everything I’ve learned with you.
This is not your typical “talking head” course — this is real architecture, real AWS, and real skills you can use.

I am extremely happy with the way the instructor teaches and explains concepts right from the beginning. I particularly appreciate how he explains not only how things work, but also why they were originally developed, the problems they were intended to solve, and how their capabilities were subsequently enhanced over time. This approach makes the learning experience much more meaningful and interesting. I really enjoy the way he explains each topic and provides the background and reasoning behind it. His teaching style makes it much easier to understand and retain the concepts. I truly enjoy the sessions and am very thankful for the instructor’s effort, clarity, and dedication to teaching. It has been a wonderful learning experience so far.

Excellent course for consolidating AWS knowledge from a professional perspective. As a senior software developer, I really value the progressive approach: before introducing higher-level managed services, it takes you through the manual path first, making sure you understand what's really behind each layer of abstraction and why it exists. The guided project built throughout the course is a very well-thought-out common thread: concepts stop being isolated theory and connect naturally with one another, which is much appreciated when you already come with prior development experience and want a solid view of how everything fits together in a real cloud environment. I especially recommend it to anyone looking for a progressive, robust learning path through AWS's essential services.

I didn't work at all with aws before and thanks a lot of step by step explanations. There is a lot of useful info and practical things how to construct the working architecture. But I feel that I need to go through all topics again to remember them well

its nice how it takes into consideration the cost for every resource used, it indeed is very important to know the market value so as to have a cost efective product.

Absolutely game-changing. The way the instructors break down complex cloud services into digestible modules made the learning curve feel effortless. Highly recommended!

This course is very well-rounded and covers all the key topics in a structured and easy-to-follow way. It gave me both a solid understanding of the fundamentals and practical knowledge I can actually use. The instructor did an excellent job explaining the material clearly and keeping things engaging throughout.

This course has not been updated as the course information states. Beanstalk's UI has changed and the instructor has not responded to the question that was asked 24 days ago. At the same time, the course is comprehensive and the instructor has worked hard to provide information, including demos and hands-on experiences.

The most engaging tutor I have watched on Udemy. Memi Lavi is a very gifted tutor. On each one of his courses (I have 3), i am so engaged i dont realize how much time is past. I just canceled my DigitalCloud Training (which had great reviews btw) subscription and bought this. I am so glad I did. I am actually learnign in a coherent manner, rather than following a presentation, doing some abstract practice examples, and trying to figure out the larger picture of what I am doing. Thank you!

So far so good! I think it'll be nice if the course has longer quizzes at the end of each section. Also it will be a more effective course used for certification if there is a final test at the end of the course. I think the practical hands-on lectures are great!

Amazing! After taking Memi's Azure course, I was sure this one will be at least as good, and in fact - it's even better! The parts about DR and API Gateway are very good and missing from other courses.
