This course gets you there, and prepares you to pass the Microsoft AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals exam along the way.

You don't need prior cloud experience to start. You don't need a Microsoft background. You need about a weekend of focused attention, and by the end you'll understand what the cloud actually is, how Microsoft Azure implements it, and how to find your way around the portal without guessing.

What you'll be able to do

By the time you finish, you will be able to:

  • Explain cloud computing in plain language — including the differences between IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, and when each one makes sense.

  • Navigate the Azure Portal confidently and locate the services you need.

  • Describe how Azure is organized: regions, availability zones, availability sets, resource groups, and Azure Resource Manager.

  • Identify the right Azure service for a given requirement across compute, networking, and storage.

  • Read an Azure bill, estimate costs before you spend anything, and explain how subscriptions and pricing work.

  • Sit the AZ-900 exam knowing what the questions are actually asking.

How the course works

We start with the concepts, because Azure makes far more sense once you understand the problems it was built to solve. From there, we move into the platform itself and build up the core Azure infrastructure piece by piece — the services you'll encounter in nearly every real environment.

You'll also create your own Azure subscription early in the course. This matters: instead of watching someone else click through a portal, you'll be following along in your own environment, creating resources and seeing the results for yourself. Hands-on time is what turns exam facts into knowledge you keep.

My courses are not presentations that rely on slides to explain concepts.  My goal is to demonstrate every concept covered, instead of using slides that cover theory, we will use the interface to configure every setting that is discussed.  In my view, if you do not know how to complete a task that a course covered, that course was not beneficial.  I will make sure that you know how to complete each task and the various configurations for those tasks.

This course helped to build on prior knowledge associated with Microsoft Fundamentals. The detail going into each service is clear and well organized. Definitely recommend this course if you are preparing for AZ-900. I look forward to passing the exam.

Pretty good and understandable material. Well organized and well presented. I'm pretty happy with this. The only reason for the missing part of the last star is that the questions for the exam are far from the difficult ones I've tried on for instance paideffort.

The Course Content is fine, but many services seem to have similar features, it would be helpful to differentiate between them clearly just for beginners consuming the course content. Example in Azure Big Data related services, Azure Security based services.

The material and demonstrations are beginning to be a bit more detailed, and the demo's in particular are helpful. I am still occasionally stumbling on times in the lecture that the instructor refers to "additional materials", but not finding links to those in the interface.

Mr. Brown covered all Microsoft AZ-900 skills measured in this course. I passed the AZ-900 exam by completing this course and test questions found on the internet. Note Microsoft will test you on a few questions that are more in depth than material in this course.

The course content is very straight to the point and does not give any unnecessary details. I find the Demos particularly useful as they provide more clarity on the theories. I couldn't give the full five stars, because the course didn't include the May 2022 update. Nevertheless, I find Kevin's presentations very engaging and easy to follow.

This course provides an overall understanding of the Azure environment. There are some practical examples and PDF handouts. The resources are useful. The presentation is clear. I am not sure if the course will help me to pass the AZ-900 test but I will recommend this course. Thank you.
