Good to get a bit of structured input in between singing lessons.

I like the course so far. The training excesies do help if you take the time and cry mode was particularly helpful. The lectures are interesitng and will help gain better understanindg on how the voice works and vowel modifcaitosn etc. I feel Robert explain things pretty good, even though some videos seem pretty old or maybe its because he choose to upload it in black and white.) There are breathing excersies, but I wish he had incorperated them more in the demonstrations, especially for warm ups etc and early lessons as a reminder for breahting.

I like the exercises of this course, I can`t seem to get into the theory and I understand that it is important. I simply want to get going and practice my vocals and write my songs. Sorry I don't mean to offend M. Robert

Robert feels very confident in his ways to teach and I feel very satisfied with this course till now, at least. I am a 22 year old Indian and I wanted to learn music online. This is perfect as I have tried many courses before and I gave up on them simply because they aren't as well explained as this. A new learner is never sure if his ways of doing things are correct or not and Robert gives enough to understand how to sing properly and what to avoid while doing so.

I really do not like to make reviews, mainly bad ones. However, after trying to take this course for the 3rd time, I think I really should share my thoughts.
Overall, what Im going to say is what some other reviewers have already said, and I can hereby confirm.
Im not judging whether Robert sings well or not, or if the theoretical content is something that technically is correct or not.
However, from a didatic perspective, the course could not be worse.
One thing that annoys is that you have to keep going to an external page, where you have to insert a password everytime you access it. He argues that this is because Udemy does not allow him to upload audio files (the solo piano workout files), but only media files. Well, that is really not an excuse. He could easily make it available at Udemy page in the same way other courses do: by uploading a video, with any random screen, since what matters is the audio itself. So, the fact that you have to go to an external page is because in doing so, he can offer you other contents and try to sell it. Ultimately, he could provide only mp3 files for downloading in a .zip file, all at once. He even did a 4 minute video just to try to explain this, since from time to time there are people complaining about it in the review. Well.. if people are complaining, he should hear his customers.
Another thing is the ebook, which you can not download. He has already argued that you have access to it anytime. Yes, but everytime you have to, besides entering another different password, FULLY DOWNLOAD it again, and can only read it in your browser, which is really not user friendly at all. For example, you do not have hyperlinks to go directly to a certain chapter.
At the quick start video he also says that you can either go sequentially through each section, OR, if you want to go straight to the trainning (in the next four minutes!), then you should go to lecture #2, access the external trainning page, access it with your password. Well, if you think youll be able to start trainning within the next four minutes, hold on... the journey is just about to begin:
First, he says that all you have to do is to scroll down to Phase 1 and learn your first onset (track and release). However, when you access Phase 1, the fist trainning technique is about cry mode. In this video, he already touchs on some topics like larynx position, siren to your head voice, release a singing vowel, head voice, passagio in the first two minutes and half of video. Really not understandable to someone whos just beginning.
After that, comes the Track & Release Onset. He starts saying that you should make sure you watched the lecture video and read the information regarding this onset. Well.. then you take a look at the lecture on Udemy page and... surprise! This is the same video that I was already seeing in the external page! So...which would be this lecture video??? Well, going forward... Then he starts doing the onset along with the piano... and again, mentions topics begginers are not familiar with, like embouchure, eh vowel, track, realease.. what is it all about? He goes up chromatically, but gives no orientation about when to do, for how long should it last, how many times go up and down the scale.. in which note should you start depending on your personal characteristics, and so on...
In summary, no matter how cheap you paid for this course, this is not worth. It may contain lots of videos and info.. which may be useful for someone who has a minimum degree of knowledge and know how to extract some tips here and there. However, if you are a beginner, like my case, it only made me loose time where I got zero result. After the third time trying to make it work, I give up.

Thank you Robert. I bought your course because I'm an American comedian and filmmaker living in Kazakhstan and I shot a parody Weird Al style music video that I will be singing in Kazakh. I've been studying Kazakh and Russian for the last few months and can memorize and say perfect sounding speeches in Kazakh but when I realized I maybe bit off more than I could chew with the "singing" part, I had the reckoning that, if I already directed and shot 90% of the video, I can't go just 10% on the singing sooooo..... thank you for the course. It's very straightforward giving concrete answers and not all the wishy washiness I found on youtube. I could already kinda sing beforehand otherwise I wouldn't have made a music video but now because of you I will actually be able to really sing... which I did not know was possible prior to going through and taking notes watching the first 40 videos of the course. I am using it daily and I will be going through your entire Udemy course prior to getting into the recording studio at the end of the year, but that's a while away. I'm a comedian not a singer, but eh. It could be fun to diversify for this little project. Maybe I will do another one if this turns out good. We will see. Anyway thank you and I'm going to get the IPA vowel chart printed now so I know where the sound colors of Kazakh letters lye. Thank you again.
