They are great. My local library provides its patrons with a free subscription and I've been watching them. Check with your local library just in case they have a similar service available to you.

Online Video Tutorials & Training is an excellent resource, but it just give you a quick overview of the concepts. I normally use it when I am stuck at something and need little of more information or see someone else doing what I am trying to do.

It contains 6 courses starting with the basics and then covers topics like Python3, GUI development, and Django. If you are new to Python then this is obviously the place to start on Lynda and if you complete all six courses in the path, youll have acquired some pretty solid Python programming skills. However, Lynda is also a great option if youre looking for intermediate or advanced topics. Check out courses like: Machine Learning & AI Foundations, Python Data Analysis, and Advanced Django.Lyndas course pages are very well laid out with some nice features. The main video player has all the standard features like full screen, subtitles, skip back 10 sec, etc. On the left is a window that has the clickable course contents for easy navigation, and a notebook tab. Here you can quickly make notes for each video, for example if there is a point you want to review later on.lyndaYou really cant go wrong with Lynda when it comes to programming courses or so many other topics.

I would recommend Lynda.com. They have a lot of courses regarding from python essential training to GUI development in python and python for web development. The course quality is great as well. If a particular course requires a prerequisite the instructor will either recommend you to watch another course before continuing or at least point in you in the right direction.

My experience with lynda was that it was quite mediocre when it comes to online learning.

I'd say Lynda is good for supplementing your learning, but I wouldn't use it as a primary resource.

Lynda has a ton of content, great instructors and is great when you specifically know what you want to learn at that time.

Lynda.com is a bit on the expensive side and is more or less filled with a lot of really basic tutorials compared to some of the more in-depth code-centric learning sites.

I've gone through some of what Lynda.com has to offer, and thought they were very well done.

By Sasan Tavakkol on 4/8/2015

For instance if you want to learn python, while you have experience in Java, then Lynda is awesome! If you want to learn python with no programming background, then you need to watch another video first.

One of the best learning resources online. I have been a premium member for over 10 years. It is one of the best investment I have ever made.
