Stop-action, motion-blur, soft-focus backgrounds, and sharp depth-of-focus, are all covered in simple to understand lessons. Light, composition, proper camera and posing techniques, are all covered with examples and practice files.

Whether you own a Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Fuji, Sony, Panasonic, or other brand camera, if you have manual controls you will be able to use these lessons to master your camera's controls. Adults learn by doing - so put down that thick manual, grab your camera, and in an hour you will understand the dials and controls that are key to taking great photographs.
What some of my workshop students have said about my Beginner Photography Workshops:
"I enjoyed Steve's style, and he presented the information in a way that is easy to understand."
"Steve explained how the camera works, why I was doing what I was doing, how to change the modes, f-stops, etc. And what the result of the picture would be. When I left the workshop I was EXCITED to use my camera! I tried all of my newly learned techniques at home. I learned so much that day, and I was hungry for more!!!!!"
"Steve explained things at a level I understood, using terminology I understood. And even more important, I was able to practice what was taught and see the results. If the results were not what I expected, Steve was available to explain what changes should be made to get the better shot."
"Steve is very knowledgeable about the subject matter and easily imparts that knowledge to students. He spends time explaining even the most basic concepts (like how do I pop the flash!). I had just gotten my camera and had no idea how to use it. I took some pretty great pictures after the workshop!"

Merci Steve! Ce workshop était très bien expliqué et a entièrement répondu à mes attentes. Il ne me reste qu'à mettre le tout en pratique!

I have been thrown into product photography with little knowledge. This was a great course for me. I understand clearly the Aperture, Shutter and so much more. Learning to see light was very helpful.

Not much to this course, but one of the better (more understandable) explanations for shutter, aperture and ISO with a few examples that many other courses seem to leave out. If you are looking for a 1 hr explanation, this is it.

I may not be a beginner, but I have a lot to learn when it comes to my camera and photography. This was a great beginner's guide to understanding your camera, learning the basics of photography, and what the differences are between the Aperture and Priority modes. I would have really liked to see some lesson on Manual mode, as that is the mode I usually use. All in all, a great lesson! Thanks Steve!

I enjoyed this course very much... just found the aperture info confusing, I found Chris Bray's explanation much easier. Definitely recommend the course though. Thank you.

Really great course for getting acquainted with the "other" buttons on your camera. Wonderful for me as a refresher from my college days. Course is exactly as described and is a good length to be adequately in-depth but will have you up and shooting pictures quickly. Worth going through all the lessons. Really enjoyed Steve's accessible way of explaining when to use aperture and shutter priority, among other things. Steve knows photography well.

Explained Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO in an extremely-understandable way. I had been searching for an easy explanation to three subjects that continued to stump me...Well not anymore. Thank You Mr. Weinrebe. I look forward to probing any other classes that you have available.

So far I have followed almost every thing but I will have to go over and over the course to really absorb what it is all about. So I plan to start at the beginning each time I go on the course.

I've learned camera settings before, but never understood them intuitively. This course explains settings in "plain English," and then gives practical applications.

I enjoyed Steve's style, and he presented the information in a way that is easy to understand.
