Course Description
**This is a short course (approx 45 minutes) that gives you everything you need to know about how to lead effective meetings with your virtual team without wasting time on useless discussions**
**Over 60,000+ managers have taken this course with successful results**
Learn simple concepts that help you improve your meeting facilitation and communication skills, and become a better team leader through easy meeting tactics.
Note: The subject of meetings can be really boring, and you've probably heard most of the common-sense advice about meetings before, so there's nothing earth-shattering about the material in this course. However, if you follow all the lectures to the letter, then this will be the only course you're ever going to need about managing your virtual teams effectively, guaranteed.
Master Simple Tips That You Can Implement Straightaway
The one question to ask yourself before scheduling a meeting
How to draft an effective agenda (and include a simple phrase to save you time)
When to schedule meetings to minimize the number of interruptions (batching techniques)
How to take helpful meeting minutes (note-taking strategies that save you time)
How to schedule meetings for team members in different time zones
Resolve the Two Main Issues with Meetings
There are two main problems with meetings. First, there's a quantity problem (too many meetings), and second, there's a quality problem (too many bad meetings).
After taking this course, you'll learn how to address both those problems. You will learn how to have fewer meetings, how to have better meetings, and how to get the most out of your meetings to get things done. You'll benefit by saving your team and yourself some time, and you'll end up with more successful meetings.

Note: This course is technology-agnostic. This means that it doesn't matter if you use Zoom, Webex, GoToMeeting, Skype, Adobe Connect, Google Hangouts, BlueJeans, or any other collaboration tool. The concepts focus more on process and communication best practices as opposed to technical guidelines.
Student Testimonials:
★★★★★ "Some of the items presented do seem common sense/intuitive, but oftentimes in the "real world" we get overwhelmed and encumbered by everything that is going on, we skip steps and forget to follow a coherent process. I have recently held a few meetings where I didn't feel as effective as I could have been. This course was a great step to refocus/reorganize and move forward." - Dacia Drury
★★★★★ "I really enjoyed this course! I thought the material was well-organized and presented in an engaging way. The content was also very relevant- even though I already lead a lot of my own virtual meetings and have been doing so for a long time, it reinforced and validated some of the ideas I use. I also liked the format of the course, presented in short bite-sized pieces and with the reiteration of simple concepts to drive home the principles. 10/10 would take again!" - Sarah Wiezel

"Short courses for busy managers"
My name is Hassan Osman and I help busy business leaders and managers work more effectively with their teams.
My focus is on three main 'future of work' areas: managing in virtual & hybrid environments, using AI to improve productivity, and enhancing communication among team members.
I write about those topics in my free weekly newsletters, "Leadership 80/20" and "AI for Leaders."
A little about me:
Most recently, I was SVP of Professional Services at NWN Carousel (a $1B organization focused on enabling hybrid work), leading a team of 200+ project managers and engineers on delivering cloud communication services to our customers.
Previously, I was a Director at Cisco Systems, where I led project and program management teams on delivering complex projects for Cisco's customers.
Prior to Cisco, I was a manager at Ernst & Young, where I analyzed failing projects at Fortune 500 companies, and recommended solutions to fix them.
I was also a research assistant at Harvard University, where I studied issues related to virtual teams.

Sometimes a meeting is set up and there is no clear reason about why it will be celebrated, as the course mentions, it provides a brief guide that will help us establish the basis and the topics around the issue to be discussed to prevent the "just because"

The content is good, and I did learn a few things. The spoken content is clear and well-paced. The slides were like "death by bullet points". Those bullet points are the same as the spoken content. This makes the visual content rather boring and more easily forgettable.

The instructor is very well organized and provided a good overview of the course. The material has been in line with the overview provided and he has also provided great explains and templates that can be downloaded for future reference.

No fluff and right to the point which makes this course perfect. The topics might seem basic, but most people do not work on these steps and meetings go longer and can be unproductive. This was a great course to have some tips for course correction with your own meetings.

This is a very good course for someone who is at the beginning of their management journey and has absolutely no idea how to start organising meetings. The course provides really basic, step-by-step info on how to run a meeting well and without wasting people's time. Personally, I have found it to be too basic and the approach too granular, but if someone needs this kind of help and has never had a good role model in how to run meetings, then this course should be a good and quick leg-up.

Loved the practical tips and to the point delivery. No nonsense and fluff which makes the time investment worth it, even if some of the tips are common knowledge or already something we are doing. Great refresher as well as something new that I can take away.

Best course so far on Udemy. Instructor speaks clearly and directly, organized material in sections, steps and tips to make it easy to follow and learn. Appreciate the summary at end of each section and focusing on each section and step one by one.

The video was clear and instructor explanation was good Secondly, after every topic he summarize the topic at end. I enjoyed this course because it is centred on meeting and this course is very important in our meetings

Comprehensive review of basic fundamentals about running good meetings that we may not all applying all the time! Absolutely true, a no-nonsense course that reminds me of all the basic principles of running effective virtual meetings (apply to f2f meetings too), very well-presented, things sound simple enough to do ... but they're not always easy to remember to do. So thank you for this very well-thought out course, Osman. Love the free app for time-zone coordination. The suggestion of including a Review session in meeting Agenda at end of meeting to make sure everyone is on same page (and to do so regardless of other items not covered due to time) is priceless advice. Asking yourself whether that meeting is necessary and writing up Objectives in action words is a very useful reminder too.

Really great course! Hassan made it really simple to understand and also, goes in depth with some of the key tips during the meetings. I would like to see some more graphics and exercises like questions during the video for the viewers.
