Instructor clearly communicates concepts of programming in general and makes it easier to understand everything and 'why'. Excellent course, would recommend to anyone who has a reason / desire to better understand computers, programming languages, and programmer communication.

Excellent overview of computer programming presented in a good clear method. Production quality is very good. The instructor is very knowledgeable on the subject. The flow is good and information is geared toward beginning programmers so as to help in the process of starting out in programming. Course is somewhat short, although I don't think it is lacking in any way. I still wish he would of covered more about low level stuff used on embedded systems, But that's just my preference because I come from a low level procedural language background.. I find the recommendations made are accurate coming from an experienced instructor. The course is a bargain in my book.

This course is great starting point for figuring out where to get started if you want to learn programming and need help deciding what language to learn. The instructor was very knowledgeable and informational. Production quality was adequate.

Knowing nothing other than HTML, this course clearly and concisely gives an overview of programming for the complete newbies, like myself. The lecturer speaks clearly and I've finished the course having a full understanding of which languages are used in certain circumstances and also why and how. Highly recommended.

Great first step if you are thinking about getting into coding. Good history provided and good review of the types of languages and their uses. Candid opinion about which languages he doesn't recommend as a 1st language. Reviews of common IDEs and brief coverage on a range of topics. This course isn't going to provide you a clear step by step on how to start, accelerate, and succeed as a professional programmer. It does, however, do a good job of providing a foundation for you to decide for yourself how you want to proceed.

This course was very helpful in navigating all the possible avenues I could take. I feel that it has saved me from learning so many skills that I don't' need at this time and I am now focuses on what I do need. The instructor was easy to learn from , with visual variety and his voice was interesting so made it easier to stick with his conversation. I really appreciate the source information and the unbias approach by the instructor. I didn't feel "sold to" so thanks for that. cheers

Thank you for shedding some light on what can really be a very complicated subject. You have given me the confidence I needed to get back into learning programming and to kickstart my career as web developer. Watching your course has helped me a lot in understanding the differences and uses of each programming language the easy way.

Asking programmer colleagues to explain the different types of languages and why they are used has been a frustrating process. Either they have been using one language for so long that it is the "best" language for everything or they do not know about the languages I would need for my startup project. This course gave a clear and concise overview of the material. I would highly recommend it to anyone trying to learn about the programming business.

Friendly instructor, but a bit vague and really tells little about less. The bottom line in 14 lectures? If you know nothing about programming, start with Ruby, Pascal or Python. Otherwise search the web for where to go from where you are.

this has to be the most boring video i've ever seen! I am a non-programmer hoping to learn general information about programming & various languages, so that i can decide on a potential career in programming. This video is too detailed and needlessly complicated, and you guessed, boring! To be fair, i only got through the first 5 modules....but i couldn't take anymore.
