Our take
Based on the ratings of 7,773 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in December 2024. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is a tight, single-section course on the ReAct pattern: reasoning, acting, observing, iterating. Taught by Hasan Aboul Hasan, creator of the SimplerLLM library, it builds a basic agent by hand in raw Python, then rebuilds the same agent with SimplerLLM to show how much code that library saves, then extends the idea into a working SEO auditor agent that calls outside APIs. At 54 minutes and 13 lectures, it assumes intermediate Python and some prompt engineering, not a first coding course.
Reviewers consistently call the explanations clear and well paced, and several specifically praise how plainly the reasoning-acting-observation loop is broken down step by step. On the downside, one reviewer noted a noticeable echo in the audio, and more than one got stuck on the SEO demo because the RapidAPI key setup throws 403 errors or has changed since filming. A few also felt the course is thin and generic for what it covers, with one saying the same material is available free elsewhere.
For 54 minutes, it delivers a focused, practical intro rather than a broad one, closer to a tutorial than a full course. It sits well next to longer, project-heavy AI courses as the quick-start option: watch this to get the ReAct pattern and a working template, then go deeper elsewhere if you need more. Worth it for someone who wants the core idea and code fast, less so for someone wanting sustained practice or guaranteed-working demo code.
Pros
- Breaks the ReAct loop, reason, act, observe, iterate, into plain steps
- Rebuilds the same agent with the SimplerLLM library to show a cleaner approach
- Ends on a real SEO auditor agent instead of a toy example
- Includes all the code and templates from the lectures
Cons
- Just 54 minutes across one section, short for an intermediate course
- A reviewer flagged a noticeable audio echo
- SEO auditor demo relies on a RapidAPI key several reviewers couldn't get working
Short and clear explanation how to build reason + act agent that uses external tools. Highly recommended to get the idea and build you own agent.
Billed as intermediate: fits Python coders who already know prompt engineering, not true beginners to either

Course Description
Welcome to "Build AI Agents From Scratch with Python," a course designed for individuals eager to dive into the world of autonomous AI agents from scratch.
This course will guide you through the fundamentals of AI agents and introduce the innovative ReAct Prompting, which enables large language models (LLMs) to think and take actionable steps.
You'll learn how to build basic to real-world AI agents totally from scratch without using any third parties.
We will be building Agents by integrating custom functions that allow these models to respond intelligently to user queries and bypass limitations like accessing live data, APIs, and external functions.
Whether you're aiming to create a simple AI Agent or a real-world AI Agent, this course provides all the necessary codes and templates to get you started!
What's Inside The Course?
1- AI Agents Structure
You will understand what an AI Agent is and how it works.
2- Understand The ReAct Prompt
The ReAct Prompt is the heart of the AI Agent. We are going to see how it works within the AI Agent workflow in action.
3- Build a Basic AI Agent (Step-by-Step)
We will start by developing a fundamental AI agent that can use external functions to answer user queries.
4- Simplify AI Agents With SimplerLLM
We will build the same AI Agent with the Help of SimplerLLM Library and see how it simplifies our code.
5- Build an SEO Auditor AI Agent (Real Example)
After you understand How AI Agents work and how to build one, we will go with an Advanced Real-World Example and Build an SEO Auditor AI Agent.
6- Get all the Codes & Templates
Save time and effort with access to all my codes and templates
Requirements
This intermediate-level course requires attendees to have a foundational understanding of Python programming and core concepts of prompt engineering.
It is ideal for those who are comfortable with Python coding basics and want to expand their skills in practical AI applications.

My Journey
I fell in love with computers at 8. By 9. That early obsession led me to explore everything tech-related:
-Programming
-Networking & Server Administration
-Hacking & Cybersecurity
-Virtualization & Linux
Over the past 14+ years, I’ve worked as a Network & Server Administrator, and have 10+ years of experience in several programming anguage
I also spent 4 years teaching IT professionally in my own company before going global with free YouTube tutorials and Online courses.
Outside of tech
I'm endlessly curious about the world. I’ve studied psychology, philosophy, and Epistemology, and I speak English, Arabic.
Also: INTP. Dad of 2. Still in love with command-line tools and a good debugger.

The concepts are really good. However, the audio quality is mediocre and the echo is just a bit uncomfortable.

This course helped me to understand the definition of an AI agent and how to build it from scratch. The agent functions and loops were clearly explained with the ReAct framework demonstrating how the four components - Reasoning, Acting, Observation and Iteration improve the agent performance in thinking through problems and take actions in an iterative loop.

This course provided a solid foundation in AI literacy and responsible AI usage. The content was clear, easy to follow, and covered important topics such as AI fundamentals, data privacy, bias, human oversight, and governance. The practical examples and assessments helped reinforce the concepts. I found the course relevant to my role and gained useful insights into applying AI responsibly in the workplace. Overall, it was a valuable learning experience and a good match for my professional development

Very good, As I am beginner for AI agent the course clears many basic understanding regarding AI agents. Thank you

It is an excellent course because it is helping me to understand some core concepts of Agentic AI in a very simple way
By Brian Elder on 3/10/2026
Very helpful and quick. Couldn't give it 5 stars because there were a few things that didn't work quite the same when following along. And the website seo analyzer fails with api key problems no matter what I try. I have subscribed to that one on rapidapi.com, but still can't get the code to run. 403 error.

It's a great, succinct tutorial on how to create AI Agents, clearly and easily explaining which part does what and what it's for. Thank you!

It was good. Really good if you looking for a course that is hand on coding while explaining. I just couldn't get to work Gemini with SimplerLLM with the API Key
