Focuses more on fundamentals compared to other courses. Which is a plus point and explanation is detailed and clear

I’m writing this as I’m following along with lessons. I bought a couple of Swift and iOS courses before this one even though I had already a good experience with Object Orientated Programming and a basic knowledge of iOS elements and XCode (I already built a couple of apps before). This course is simply the best, I found out that going through a big start to finish project on a big app is more helpful than going through small start to finish projects on small apps because it lets you face more real world cases that end up giving you practical experience to build your own app with lots of complex features that are more useful than the one you found out in other courses. Looking to buy also the dating app course as soon as I finish this one, and I really hope the team is going to build more courses in the future!

Thanks! Great course, good delivery, clear explanations, covers good bases. Needs two things, as of February 2019: (1) to be updated: some class syntax changes since (current = Swift 4.2 & Firebase 5), which made things a little more complicated, and (2) to be completed: Section 23 has no content (or just delete it, since it is empty).

I'm on the second episode of the course and there has been a HUGE jump. Episode one showed you the basics of Xcode and episode two opened with a massive project with an abundance of code that I couldn't follow along with, so I was lost. I'll continue with the course in episode 3 to see if it improves. Update: I'm now 26% of the way through the course and it's excellent. Another update: I love this course, but I do have to alter it in order to match the latest Firebase update, which is Cloud Firestore.

There is a lot to like in this tutorial, but it is delivered rather amateurishly. It is great that the entire first section is available to preview so you know the standard of product you are getting for your money. The Zero2Launch team deserve credit for that. It is slow going. It will easily take you an entire day to get through the authentication section. "Change line. Build code. Doo-doo-doo, ho hum. Ok, great! Repeat.".... Yet at some points, the presenter whips through sections (especially the UX sections), so you'll constantly be going back to try to understand what he is doing. The main speaker lacks confidence and (obviously) any real-world experience, which definitely affects how much credence you might give to his teaching. He struggles to explain complicated-but-standard programming concepts (you will almost certainly become confused if you try to understand what he is talking about), and you can hear someone else prompt him on how to pronounce function names correctly at some points. I understand this was a team effort by "coding geeks" but it's pretty weak. The course blurb is an oversell, which is a shame - as they do pack a lot into this. There is almost no overview of many of the concepts being employed - so you will need some knowledge of modern design patterns and programming to get beyond the second chapter. The sections that are "explained" are just the presenter reading whatever was in his lecture notes. He shouldn't have bothered. Are you going to "master every crucial iOS programming concept" for £9.99. Erm... no. But yeah you can definitely hack together an Instagram clone with this course.

Had to write a review for this course. It's brilliant! First course I've done that I feel I fully understand (as a UI designer). Looking for a long time for something like this. Thanks so much for putting it together!
