Build Your Own NetApp Storage Lab, For Free! (Udemy.com)
How to build a complete NetApp ONTAP lab for free on your laptop.

What you will learn
- Practice configuring and testing almost all NetApp features using your own free lab.
Course Description
This course walks you through how to build a fully ready and complete NetApp simulator lab from scratch, using NetApp’s latest operating system ONTAP 9.
The lab features two NetApp simulator clusters with Windows and Linux clients in separate IP subnets to make it as close to a real world environment as possible... and best of all you can build and run the lab completely for free, all you need is a PC to run it on.
We cover step by step where to find all the software for free, how to build the NetApp simulators, the Windows and Linux clients, the VMware setup and how to configure the networking.
Almost all NetApp features can be practised and tested using the lab. You can use it as a study tool or for testing features before deploying them in your production environment.
The lab build outlined in the book is the same one I use for the hands-on demonstrations in my NetApp training videos. You can use the instructions in this course to build your own lab and follow along with me.
I hope you can make use of this course to expand your storage knowledge and further your career.

Neil Anderson
Hi, I'm Neil Anderson, and my mission is to build the best Cloud and Data Center systems engineers possible.
I dropped out of school with no qualifications or future plans at the age of 15. When I got a little bit older and wiser I realised I should make a career for myself so I pulled myself up by learning about IT technologies through books and online resources. It’s my passion now to help you do the same.
You know how some instructors seem to get a kick out of making things complicated to make themselves look smarter than you? I love to make things as easy to understand as possible and seeing you get that lightbulb moment.
I'm proud of my 'Top Responder' tag on Udemy and unless I'm on an international flight I'll personally answer your questions within 24 hours. I genuinely care about giving you the best experience possible, both in the quality of my training and in ongoing support.
Nothing makes me feel better than hearing back from students who I've helped move on to the next level in their career. It gives me huge satisfaction to know I've played a part in you achieving your goals.

This course is a real eye opener to the world of Enterprise Networks as it covers all the sections of an Enterprise Network ie Storage, Virtualization and different OS eg Windows and Linux. This course enabled me to dot the i and cut the t in a functioning Enterprise Network. Bravo Neil good stuff

It was amazing experience following Neil's lab setup guide, I haven't set up on my own any lab with the help of Neil's wonderful explanation and step by step guide I was able to build the help without any issue it has boosted my confidence. Overall I recommend this course to all newcomers to Netapp it is very easy to understand and go along with Neil's lab. Keep it up buddy appreciates with your efforts.

The course is only free if you have a NetApp account if you don’t have a account you cannot download the required application. If I know this before I would have never had started the course. Also the free PDF is wrong in some sections so you need to follow video to make it work.

I would like to say thank you, Mr. Neil Anderson, for making this course with hard work and good affords, once again thanks to you by offering this course for free. I will suggest to everyone who wants to learn NetApp Storage Lab setup don't miss this opportunity.

Lab setup worked with no issues. Only recommendation is to update the course using the latest VM's from VyOS and NetApp. Recommend having a troubleshooting section. Do recommend this course if wanting to have a NetApp lab to test and learn in.

good and fast starter to build a test lab. Would be good to get more details of the setup for example changing the cluster serial of the second cluster node is only mentioned and if a different ONTAP is used you have to change it to get the installation finished

The course is very well prepared, great guidance, through the video as well as the PDF, I would like to have a little more usage for the lab(exercise) but I understand this was just to create the lab, which I have running as expected. Neil is great, I will possibly purchase the CCNA course from him, I already got NCDA in parts because to his courses.

Very clear and step by step easy to follow instructions. FYI - It took me 22 hours straight to configure my clusters on Windows NT 4.0 Enterprise and Compaq Servers back in the day on a physical array... Times have changed a lot. One of the best I've seen on Udemy without a doubt. - Darby Weaver

The course is great and very easy to follow. Make sure you also get the ebook as it reflects all the changes made after the video was shot. One minus though - half way through the course you find out that you actually must be an NetApp customer to get access to trial/demo software download. If you're not NetApp client you end up downloading less official copy from torrents. This should be clarified at the beginning of the course. Other than that - really great stuff.

Incredibly concise and clear, excellent course. My only request would be if the consoles could be zoomed in during those sections as the font is very small when I'm trying to read those commands. Content of the course cannot be faulted in any way, fantastic course!
