Course Description
There's no need for me to write too much here. Doing something you love doesn't make you a teacher and showing people what you are doing doesn't make you a teacher either. Teaching is an art, teaching is a profession. There're lots of videos out there but only few will teach you. I'm a teacher. I want to teach you to understand and do things by yourself. This course goes straight to the point. If you want to learn how to use PHP, AJAX, OOP and PDO to build a Web Application (Database), then, I recommend this course.
You will learn and understand how to use:
PHP to build web applications
OOP to create methods (functions) to save you lots of code typing (Don't Repeat Yourself - DRY).
AJAX to post data and display data from a database without refreshing your page or browser.
PHP Data Object (PDO) to establish very secured connections to database servers and avoid SQL Injections.
We shall be creating a real application to get you the practical knowledge on your finger tips.
This course is for anyone from beginners to IT Professionals who want to jump start and skip all the too many confusing explanations to go right into the real world of Web Programming with PHP.
Don't make the mistakes I made, You cannot learn everything in PHP, even the developers of PHP don't know everything because it's a community of contributors. What you need to know is to master the important concepts that will give you the confidence to build your own apps. And as soon as you get to that level of confidence, you will start learning and adding to you skills all the time and that is exactly what we shall be doing in this course.
I have a teaching methodology that works when it comes to programming; I explain the concepts, teach you how to use it, and I show you when to use it.
Some Comments
From Jaiyaramakrishnan Mahendran
this course was subscribed to give it to a 6th grader to learn php, as introduction to computers and website development, the student feels absolutely comfortable with the lectures because concepts are heavily emphasized in this course followed by syntax of the language, well done author, i wish my son can learn something during this summer break and starts web development as a skill

I loved this course! The instructor really takes the time to explain everything in detail. And also by repeating himself I remembered what he said and was able to wrote my own code by the end of the course, so I really learnt a lot! Also when I had any questions the instructor answered promptly and clearly!

Explained the concepts well with lots of repetition that was great. Some of the final app was still not totally completed in the course to make it a fully functional app that could be replicated (transaction details component) but the majority was! I would recommend this course.

The teacher has a really wonderful way of teaching and uses repetition to really get the concepts into your head. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone looking for knowledge in these areas.

I liked this course tutor takes his time explaining code and you learn a great deal. He lays out the tasks ahead with the comments in the code which I really liked. His English is good with a relatively clear accent. Looking forward to his advanced course

I bought the course because the free version was so good and informative and now I want to learn how to finish the web app that I started. It allowed for a practical understanding which was very useful compared to other courses that only focus on theoretical programming. This course is a little bit of both which is great.

I was able to quickly use what I learned and create my own inventory app. I ended up searching for other snippets of code to add extra features like session information that would provide unique settings and queries for different users on login. I knew a little html already and a little about databases that made learning easier. Great learning experience.

I have nothing to say about your knowledge. But it annoys me to hear the words "right, all right, right, all right" you keep saying this almost after every word. This makes it hard for me to follow and concentrate because you are using these words too often. the way you telling is in my opinion also a messy way how you explain things. It could be better. You are searching for words when trying to explain, you are scrolling up and down when explaining things. I have respect for your knowledge, but the way you teach is not that good. As I said, I have to put too much effort for following this course because of the annoying two words which I hear repeatedly. -------- I edited my rating from 3 to 4 stars. This because of the content of the lectures I watched after I gave the first rating. But I still think you can improve your skills. It is right that you are trying to explain things in the right way so we can use the stuff we learned.

The instructor have used and explained those most important functions in PHP. Paul Amissah also taught some useful tools from Jquery Ajax and how to encrypt password. He also taught the security issues about processing data and retrieve data in secure way such as PDO. Thank you...

I'm about 9+ lessons in and there was a great flow up until we got to loops and functions. I've already taken some Java and Python and I still felt like the lessons for Object Oriented Programming was like going from point A to C. I feel like the examples for the loops and functions should be simpler so the concept can be grasped easier. Something super simple like looping numbers for addition and gradually progressing through more complicated loops and functions. Overall, though, Paul is quite thorough. I appreciate that he really does try to go through every single step. He has a pleasant demeanor which is not harsh to the ears. I also appreciate that the course was very affordable and I am learning a lot. I will try to update this review as I progress (hopefully) through this course.
