Master Python Programming from Scratch: Build Real-World Projects and Become Job-Ready in 2026

Our take

Based on the ratings of 17,941 students and a sample of their written reviews, the syllabus, the course as of February 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.

A Python bootcamp from Haris Ali Khan, the YouTuber behind CodeWithHarry, and his fans have followed him to Udemy in numbers: about 76,000 students and nearly 18,000 reviews at a 4.6 average since it launched in 2025. The syllabus runs 110 lectures over roughly 18 hours, starting with variables and loops and ending with Flask web apps, a Git section and an AI video generator project. It's aimed at complete beginners, though several reviewers argue the second half moves too quickly for people who are truly new to code.

Students praise the clear, step-by-step explanations and the bite-sized lessons; one reviewer singles out the animations, another an active Q&A. The projects get credit for making the theory stick. The low-star reviews are consistent, though. Reviewers say the later sections and projects feel rushed, that concepts show up in exercises before they've been taught, and that the external libraries section reads like copied code with little explanation of the syntax. A one-star review also argues that the Flask, Jinja and Git material belongs in a separate course, and would have preferred more depth on Python itself.

The course was refreshed in February 2026, and the section on coding with AI assistants is unusual for a beginner course. Against its neighbours in Software Development, which cover PCEP certification, Spring, Flutter and Arduino, it's the only general Python starter and the obvious pick if you want a paid first course from a familiar face. Go in planning to pause and replay the project videos, and treat the Flask and Git sections as a bonus rather than the main event.

Best forComplete beginners who already like Harry's YouTube style and want a structured, paid version with projects and a taste of Flask.
Skip it ifYou want deep Python fundamentals at a slow pace; reviewers say the later sections rush, and one wanted the Flask and Git material split out.

Pros

  • Clear, bite-sized explanations of the basics that reviewers say got them writing code on their own
  • Real projects, including a Flask web app and an AI video generator, so theory gets applied right away
  • Refreshed in February 2026 and includes a section on coding with AI tools like Copilot and Cursor
  • Active Q&A section, according to one reviewer, plus 19 caption tracks

Cons

  • Pace speeds up in the advanced and project sections; several reviewers say they couldn't keep up
  • Some concepts appear in exercises before they are taught, and the external libraries section is thin
  • Flask, Jinja and Git take about a quarter of the runtime that one reviewer wanted spent on deeper Python
The instructor breaks down complex programming concepts into very clear, bite-sized video lessons.
Kshitiz Kaushik, a student

Marked beginner and starts from zero, but reviewers say the back half assumes more than a first-timer has; expect to rewatch.

This is by far one of the best practical courses. The instructor breaks down complex programming concepts into very clear, bite-sized video lessons. The best part of this course learning is real-world projects which helped me a lot in applying what I learned immediately, and the Q&A section was active and helpful. Thank you for being such a great instructor. I really appreciate your efforts. Keep creating more amazing courses!

This course is amazing! I have watched most of your tutorials, and they have helped me a lot in learning Python. This is my first time learning Python, and your teaching style made even difficult concepts easy to understand. I really appreciate how you explain everything step by step with clear examples and practical exercises. The course is well-structured, engaging, and beginner-friendly. Thank you for creating such a wonderful course and for sharing your knowledge. I truly enjoyed learning from you and look forward to watching more of your tutorials. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn Python from scratch. "Thank you for being such a great instructor. Keep creating more amazing courses!"

My experience so far has been amazing. I'm halfway through, and the things I'm learning in this course are nowhere to be found for free on YouTube. Everyone on YouTube mostly teaches only basic stuff and doesn't teach any deep, thorough concepts. I would rate it 5/5.

By Simon Colmenares on 6/12/2026

Course is great for learning basic programming up until 70% of the course where it spikes heavily into projects where things are not thoroughly explained. If you're a begginner it'll be difficult to understand what is happening, why and how the things he's doing actually works. Once it goes into web development you might need to take it very slow.

By Andrii Grytsyk on 5/12/2026

Beginning of course is great. But demo projects using very basic concepts (just plain main file with functions, no classes, no hierarchy, no decorators usage) and much time there is spent on bug hunting. Also git usage is out of scope for python learning (but to finish this course I need to re-listen that)

By Tshepo kagisho on 5/9/2026

The course is a bit challenging but in a good way, i sometimes find myself having to repeat videos, go through the handbook and maybe doing some external research but Harry makes it so much fun and i am enjoying it so much so far and everytime i learn and understand something new it becomes even more exciting to move forward. brilliant i love it 5 stars.

By Soumadip Majila on 5/3/2026

This course is honestly amazing. If you’re just getting started with Python, this is a great place to begin. Everything—from how the course is structured to the way concepts are explained and even the video quality—feels really polished and easy to follow. I especially liked how complex topics were broken down into simple steps, which made learning much less overwhelming. I picked up a lot from it and feel much more confident now. The examples and exercises were super helpful too, and it never felt boring or too fast-paced. Definitely worth the time if you want a solid start with Python.

Wow! What a course! If you are looking for a course to start you off on learning Python, this is the one for you. From the creation of the course, to the delivery, and to the editing of the videos - everything is exceptional. I learnt so much!

By Harshit Ingavale on 4/19/2026

This course covers all you need to take your python learning from zero to intermediate level. Overall it was a great learning experience to have. Much recommended

By Sujal Pathak on 3/30/2026

I genuinely felt like this course made python more easy and fun. If you're a beginner than I would like to highly recommend this course to begin your python journey. You will learn how fun and exhilarating it is to code with python. And please make sure you're active with it like doing the practice problems first yourself and if you find it hard to solve even after 10 min of pondering about the solution then you should watch how to solve it. It will make learning python extremely fun and rewarding. It was an awesome time for me here that's why I am giving it 4.5 stars. Hope the review help you to know about the course :)
