This is a four-hour walkthrough of Native Instruments' Maschine Mk3 controller and the Maschine software. Rob Jones

Rob has been fully immersed in music since a very early age, having played a number of instruments and being involved in professional musical theatre, choral and operatic organisations throughout his youth. He is a classically trained musician, with piano as his primary instrument, and obtained a degree in music and sound recording (the prestigious Tonmeister course) from the University of Surrey.

During the emergence of big beat in the late nineties, Rob focussed increasingly on electronic music, beginning to dabble in production and becoming a resident DJ at various nightclubs. Having honed his skills both at University and in the studios in London where he carried out technical work, a unique style of production of predmoninantly breaks and house began to evolve. A number of tracks were released on various labels, including Lot49, Dead Famous and Erase, under the artist name Anarchy Rice.

Sections 1 through 7 have proven very, very valuable. My suggestion at this point would be to start with section 7 as the first lesson or definitely include it as part of Section 1: Introduction. I believe those of us with the up to date version would certainly give much more grace to the presenter who is doing a fabulous job.

The Introduction is intended as an overview, but leaves you feeling lost. My advice would be to skip this part and start with the lessons on pattern creation. The Maschine UI has changed quite significantly since these lessons were recorded, but I had no trouble following along with the latest v3.01. Overall, the course gives a good, structured overview of the Maschine workflow. Following along, I made my own house beat, using all the techniques described and I'm proud of the result.

Gostei muito do curso. O professor parece entender muito de produção. Só fiquei decepcionado que as observações das última aula não teve exemplo com o Pro Tools, a mais famosa DAW do mundo. Eu super recomendaria o professor. Já comprei alguns cursos dele. Devido ao sotaque do professor, sinto que tive que repetir algumas coisas para entender, justamente porque o inglês não é minha lingua nativa. Com as novidades oriundas da inteligência artificial, a Udemy tinha que colocar uma opção de ouvir a aula em nossa lingua nativa, ou pelo menos uma opção de traduzir as legendas. Mas o curso é realmente 5 estrelas. Todos os cursos que ele lançar sobre a Maschine, eu compro!

I just wanted to say how helpeful this course has been for me. I purchased my maschine without any background musical experience and no idea how to work it. Not even half way through this course and I feel like I have a great understanding of how to use my machine and all the things it’s capable of. I’ve seen comments and reviews on this course complaining but I’d say anyone that’s having trouble following along should probably take a step back, relax and try again. Any issues I’ve had So far I’ve been able to work out myself by just taking a second to think and figure it out. This course has been so helpful that I signed up for another machine course as well. I believe that some people that left complaints probably had unreal expectations for this course. Anyone genuinely interested in learning machine will have no problem picking it up by simply following along with these videos. Hope this helps. Thanks again for the great course!

I've gone through the 2nd module now. It seems like this is exactly what I was looking for. The tutorials lessons are easy to follow and show a lot of features and even lead you into how to be creative. I think the introduction is a bit intimidating and i'm not sure if it is needed. Perhaps it could be improved if you simply just showed people where to save the resource files instead of doing the extensive exhibition of what maschine and the mk3 are capable of. I was a little worried after watching that based on the introduction alone if I would be able to follow along or not.
