Electronic Music Production with Ableton Live (Udemy.com)

Pace and the visuals / explanations are clear. Perhaps as 'pre-course' content, a section could be created about the basics / basic structure of an electronic track so that the learner has some prior knowledge about how a track is built and structured / its core elements. This will allow for a better understanding of the actual course content and use of the software.

I finished the course and it was the best course i've had in my life. Even though English is not my first language, everything was crystal clear and i really learned so much from it. Simon Stokes is a very good teacher and you can tell that he is very passionate about what he does. I really loved his excitement and energy and this could be the first course i complete from beginning to end. It took me one month to finish and made 2 tracks that i haven't been able to finished but i will. Thank you Simon for this course. I'd recommend everyone who wants to learn Ableton and music production.

Nice course to electronic music through Ableton, especially if you're into house and that kind of stuff. Even though short, it gets your feet wet into the music world, explaining just enough of the whys without being pedantic, leaving you hints about stuff that can be deepened separately (and that's good: it's an introductory course after all). Even though it's obviously through recorded video, Simon really makes you feel comfortable while working on your own track, not to mention his willingness to give you feedback on your song. Well done!

You literally can feel the passion in his voice as he lovingly explains concepts in an easy to understand way. After finishing the course, I am uplifted and inspired, and I feel the spark of creativity surging once more. A+ masterclass instructor with a true passion that can be felt with every course and explanation! An excellent course that deeply resonated with my learning style. The instructor's teaching style and approach really helped me understand a lot of the preliminary concepts that I've been wanting to understand and aquire a strong foundation on not just with Ableton itself, but broader concepts like synths, effects and much much more. For first time users like myself, taking brief moments in-between videos to apply the concepts to my own project in tandem helped a ton. In short, a really awesome job by Simon on this course, highly recommended!

This is the first Udemy course I have actualyl finished and could not recommend it more! I have tried many music production courses and always dropped them, but Simon is an amazing teacher, the course is very structured and everything is explained from the absolute basics so you never really get lost or unsure what's going on. You can tell Simon has taught many students because he is also aware of the psychology of studying music production and offers encouragement along the way, which I found extremely helpful with sticking with the course.

Truly a wonderful and effective course! Simon Stokes is such a warm-hearted, funny and just all-round amazing person and I LOVE LOVE LOVE his style of teaching! ... He always shows in the best way, softest way and most organic way how to do things to truly create something sounding professional. I have cried multiple times while working on my song (which I came up with by accident when playing with different chord-progressions) which I have planned for a 9-song album which already has a full plan on each song and style. I am starting with zero knowledge of any DAW except for a little bit of playing around with GarageBand so I appreciate the slow, one little step at a time approach. Update: Just finished the course. I started with zero knowledge of music and am very happy with the results. My advice, take it slow and suck up each lesson well before moving on. There is so much knowledge being shared that in fact I will soon do a second running of the complete course. Simon is a very good teacher and easy to follow.

I finished it and made some notes using the in app note taker that bookmarks notes with a timestamp which made it easy to go back to review. It was nice to learn from his workflow during his creating tracks instead of other videos and classes I've seen where others just seem to be making a video of the Ableton Live manual. Simon is knowledgable with both Apple and Windows shortcuts. I could follow along even though he is working on Ableton Live 10 Suite on Windows and I am Ableton Live 11 Suite on Apple.
