Garageband IOS (iPhone/iPad): The Complete Beginners Guide (Udemy.com)

So far so good. Well done. Better than the YouTube videos I was pushing thru with mixed results. I had an 8 track studio in my previous life. So, I know that world. I found the iPad / GarageBand interface a bit frustrating and at times counter intuitive. So, trying this course with hopes of being able to use GarageBand for my new Yamaha MODX M8 and trumpet / vocal work and share that with my brother that has been using GarageBand for many years. I have high hopes for some clean sketches and recordings. We shall see.

I LOVE the instructor - Mike is upbeat, knowledgeable, articulate, funny and fun! He has great ease with and demonstrated mastery of GarageBand and his passion for music and teaching comes through in each lesson. Mike delivers the information in an approachable, inspiring, practical manner that allows me to visualize how I can apply these lessons and GB tools to create my songs. After completing this course, I am inspired to move forward with the production of my songs. I believe I can be successful in creating polished productions in GarageBand. Thank you, Mike! I am excited to share that I have recently completed the Garageband Beginner's Course and received my certification! The course was an incredible experience that was both enjoyable and interactive. I was able to learn quickly and effectively thanks your lessons. With this certification, I am now able to create my own music and sound effects, and I am proud to say that I have already created two BGM tracks! This is just the beginning step towards building my ideal portfolio as a Multimedia Artist.

This was a brilliant course. Firstly: I now realise that GarageBand has superpowers that are ridiculous for a free app; secondly: Mike is a brilliant communicator and educator - i started this course smothered with a foul cold and still really enjoyed it; thirdly: I learned absolutely loads about music production, about effects and about songwriting. Finally: I feel empowered to get songs in my head recorded as pieces of music and they’ll probably be awful but it’s gonna be good fun.

The mentor of this course Mike Barnes is amazing. I found his way of teaching extremely informative, entertaining, lucid and breaking down complex concepts into simple easy to understand informative pieces. When I started the course I was a novice just entering the field, and by the end of the course I was well on my way to making some original music, a few of which were genuinely appreciated by my friends, colleagues and peers. Off-course I need to cover a lot of ground. I wish Mr. Barnes will continue making such wonderful courses for beginners like me. Thanks a lot Mr. Barnes.

Good pacing, Easily digestible packets of information in each segment. No pretentions. No assumption of previous knowledge. This is a great beginner’s course for someone who has had limited exposure to music theory or music lessons, yet it’s also pleasant to follow along if you’ve got a bit of music theory and lessons under your belt and just want to gain a secure footing in GarageBand on the iPad. This guy loves to teach his craft, and it shows in this course. Well done!

I had fiddled with garage band for some time without really understanding how most of it worked. Now I have been through the course I feel that I know how to use it, how to achieve what I want. Now back to the start of the course and really get to use all of the features. Thank you!

So I must say this course was beyond my expectations. It just about covered every nuance that Garageband has to offer! It was the platform I used to teach to my student body of 15! Students in my very own 12 Week Audio Course, I have to give credit where credit is due. Had it not been for this course I would have had a much more difficult time teaching this DAW, and likely would have missed a couple of features here and there! I will likely use it again to teach and perhaps even modify some of the way I present the course material. Thank you Thank you thank you! The course is phenomenal!

This is probably the best Udemy courses I’ve ever taken. I have used Gb for iOS quite a bit over the past three years and would class myself as a fairly confident user. So with the word ‘Beginner’ in the title, I was a bit worried that there wouldn’t be enough new content to make it worth taking this course. In the event I needn’t have worried; there was quite a bit of very useful reinforcement and I was delighted to find that there were a surprising number of new ideas and features of Garageband that I hadn’t known about. The presenter Mike is an outstandingly friendly and capable teacher and it has been a delight to share his company. Thanks Mike for a really excellent and engaging course.

I definitely recommend this course for anyone wanting to learn Garageband ios. Michael is one of the loveliest teachers I've come across on Udemy. Everything is very clearly explained and shown, his personality is smashing! (I think this IS important, as I've done a different course on here before and the guy just sounded like he couldn't be arsed, very off putting!) So for how much you learn and for how lovely he is, you cant go wrong. I've been learning music production for about 3 months with FL on my PC, and I learnt a lot here with panning and EQing, many tips that I didn't know before and I can now take to FL as well. Am very happy with this course and it felt like I was on a journey with you! How lovely. And thank you very much for creating this for us. xxx
