Beginners Guide to GarageBand (Mac) - Let’s Write a Song (Udemy.com)

the videos are too basic. the intro made it seem as though you would learn a lot about production, mixing and mastering but this is just basic stuff which most of isn't new if you already have a little experience with GarageBand. Still there were some cool new ideas for me so that's why 3 stars :)

Another great course from Mike. Excellent delivery and a good introduction to using GarageBand on the Mac. As he says, a lot is down to diving in, having a go, and experimenting. There's so much available even though GarageBand seems to be classed as an entry-level DAW. I found the course easy to use and understand, presented in Mike’s personable and inimitable style. I'm pretty sure I'll return to it from time to time as a refresher.

Just into garageband, I madeup a beat as directed by Mike. Basics explained quite precisely, would have liked more sample songs however i find its hard to fit in everything in the course duration so all the best to Mike and keep giving us more garageband lessons for future.

I loved this course. There are a lot of people out there who create ultra-complicated tutorials (I call them ego-trip videos), but Mike puts everything in such an easy to understand way. I've been working along with him and got a basic track down that I'm really happy with. This course is ideal if you're a complete beginner like me. Thanks Mike, great stuff.

I learned a lot of neat, tight details here. A lot better than the full-blown courses where they zip through everything but teach you nothing specific. I would like to see a larger course from you, though, as it would be worth the time and money. As for Mastering, I think I will use a visual for each song: Is it a song playing from the top of the highest mountain?; Is it a song playing inside a camping tent on a winter's night? Time to go to work.

Mike has created an absolutely outstanding course here and has given me the confidence to start recording my own music. The course ticks every box. What stands out for me is that Mike's passion for music and mixing is abundantly clear throughout and this naturally creates a fantastic course as a byproduct. Thank you so much, Mike, for being so engaging and being a fantastic teacher. Cannot recommend this course enough for anyone looking to start recording!

This course is everything I needed! As a beginner on Garageband, watching Mike’s videos has taught me so much. He is super informative but in an engaging and friendly way, it’s a joy to watch and learn from him. I’m so glad I chose this course!

Very good match! Already feel like I am learning loads. The recording process is very new to me and seemed like a daunting process to undertake. But the software and gear breakdown makes me feel like this is something I can do! I have now completed the course and have left feeling inspired. Really clear instructions. Very engaging tutor.
