Course Description

Have you ever wanted to learn Japanese? Whether you're planning a trip to Japan, interested in Japanese culture, anime, manga, business opportunities, or simply want to challenge yourself with one of the world's most fascinating languages, this course is the perfect place to start.

Japanese is spoken by over 120 million people and offers access to a rich culture, incredible history, unique traditions, and one of the world's largest economies. While Japanese may seem intimidating at first because of its writing systems and grammar, learning it becomes much easier when you follow a structured path designed specifically for beginners.

This course takes you from complete beginner to a confident Japanese speaker through a carefully designed learning journey. You'll begin by mastering Hiragana and Katakana, the two essential Japanese writing systems, before moving on to beginner Kanji, sentence building, grammar, numbers, dates, adjectives, verbs, and real-life conversations. From there, you'll continue expanding your skills through practical topics, dialogues, travel situations, everyday communication, and increasingly advanced grammar structures.

Unlike many Japanese courses that focus only on memorization, this course combines reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and real-world communication. You'll learn not only how Japanese works, but also how to use it naturally in everyday situations.

Throughout the course, you'll practice introducing yourself, ordering food, shopping, asking for directions, discussing hobbies and interests, talking about your family, navigating transportation, making reservations, and much more. You'll also learn essential grammar concepts, common vocabulary, useful phrases, and practical expressions that Japanese speakers use every day.

The course is taught by multiple experienced Japanese instructors, each bringing their own expertise and teaching style. Together, they guide you through a comprehensive curriculum that builds a strong foundation while continuously reinforcing previously learned concepts.

Whether your goal is travel, work, study, relocation, cultural exploration, or personal development, this course will give you the knowledge and confidence you need to start communicating in Japanese.

After taking this course, you will be able to:

  • Read and write both Hiragana and Katakana confidently, allowing you to navigate basic Japanese texts, signs, menus, and learning materials with ease.

  • Understand and use essential beginner Kanji, giving you a strong foundation for future Japanese study and helping you recognize commonly used characters in everyday situations.

  • Build grammatically correct Japanese sentences using the most important particles, verb forms, adjectives, and sentence structures used by native speakers.

  • Introduce yourself, talk about your background, discuss your interests, describe people and places, and participate in basic everyday conversations in Japanese.

  • Handle practical situations such as ordering food, shopping, asking for directions, making reservations, using transportation, and interacting with locals during travel.

  • Understand and use key grammar structures including questions, negatives, comparisons, continuous forms, short forms, opinions, requests, permissions, and sentence connectors.

  • Expand your Japanese vocabulary across a wide variety of real-world topics including family, emotions, weather, clothing, food, transportation, hobbies, work, travel, and daily activities.

  • Continue your Japanese learning journey with confidence, having built a strong foundation in reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and communication skills.

For a Brazilian, it is very difficult to find good content to learn Japanese, so this course helped me a lot. Now I’m planning a trip to Asia, and this knowledge is going to be useful.

The lack of quiz material for the beginners portion of the course leaves three student without reinforcement. I thought the Learn Japanese with music was actually going to be a coarse on learning Japanese through song lyrics, which is very effective way to learn language due other way the brain works. Break up the music section into smaller sections, for easier downloading.

Rosy I like so much, becouse she shows the kanji pronounciation. And circle the word while speaking. With the man is difficult to follow, I've never knew which kanji word explained.

Generic and useful content. In first few units, teacher obviously isn't a native speaker and her accent is a bit off. There were also a few mistakes, omitted translations and mistakes that have nothing to do with Japanese (like not knowing difference between a prefix and a suffix). She sounds knowledgeable and passionate about Japanese, so none of it is a serious issue. The other teacher is okay as well. What I find most problematic here is lack of resources to download, to actually check unit by unit how much you know or practice writing. Or at least a link to some other sites with available resources. There's simply no chance you won't learn anything at all from this, though. It's a decent way to kickstart your learning, follow a structured curriculum and of course, practice on your own, expand on what you've heard here.

This course kind of jumps directly to words, so I had a hard time getting into the flow. Perhaps, the language itself is taught like that? I still liked it and would definitely recommend for someone who has some exposure to this language/culture.
