Walid El Horr built this around the official exam outline, and the sections are named and weighted to match: fundamentals, data modeling, process automation, user interface, and testing and deployment. It runs about 16.6 hours over 90 lectures. The biggest block, roughly eight hours, goes to process automation and logic, the heaviest exam section. It is aimed at Salesforce admins who want to move into code. The requirements ask for entry to intermediate admin knowledge, and Java helps but is not required, since Apex is taught from scratch.
Reviewers like the structure and the clear explanations, and a couple say they passed Platform Developer I on the first try. One adds that the instructor answers questions. The complaints are consistent, though. The demos use the Classic interface and feel dated, and one student found the accent hard to follow in places. Another found the slides too heavy on theory, and a one-star reviewer missed a project to follow along with. The sharpest criticism is about gaps. A reviewer lists Lightning Web Components, asynchronous Apex, REST and SOAP APIs and trigger recursion as missing, and others suggest adding Trailhead.
The last update was February 2023, over three years ago, and the description still talks about the Winter 20 release. Reviewers say it can feel like old material, so treat this as a foundation, not a full prep plan. Roughly 86 percent of the 4,097 ratings are four or five stars, but the one-star reviews are blunt that it falls short as a sole resource. Paired with Trailhead and some practice questions, it is a reasonable way to learn the core of the exam.

I did gain my PD1, but I had to use other resources to supplement my study. But this course was a good foundation for sure.

I have designed and built this course to be 100% aligned with the official exam Study Guide of the latest Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I release, and I will be updating it on each subsequent release if necessary. Some topics have up to 5 lectures, like the SOQL, SOSL and DML topic that is under Section 3!

This course Could have been better If there were more practical aspects to it and for instance if there was a project set up from the beginning of the class That a student could go through with the instructor While learning all aspects of salesforce in a practical way .The explanations are just like reading something and does not give the motivation to continue learning through these topics. Also, it does not look updated as I purchased it a long time ago and I'm preparing for the exam now

Very knowledgeable instructor who has put together a well structured course. However the course does need to be revamped to include Lightning Web Components, Asynchronous APEX, REST API, SOAP API, the Describe methods that are available in SObjectType class, and how to prevent recursion in APEX Triggers. I did gain my PD1, but I had to use other resources to supplement my study. But this course was a good foundation for sure.

great explanation, thorough and clear. This is absolutely the best and must watch tutorials for anyone who wants to quickly (in 16 hrs) go over ALL of the concepts, especially covered in Developer One certification (PD1). A colleague of mine told me about this instructor and I am just so glad I bought the course. I come here sometimes to revise some topics quickly as he goes over the documentation concepts in a much simpler way. Thanks a lot for this class!!! highly recommend!!!!
