Complete Vue Developer Bootcamp (Pinia, Vitest) (Udemy.com)

Ultimate guide to Vue 3 Development. Build large scale applications and deploy to production. Go from Zero to Mastery!

Created by: Andrei Neagoie

Last updated February 2026

Our take

Based on the ratings of 3,156 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in February 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.

Andrei Neagoie's bootcamp is a project-first Vue 3 course. The syllabus shows 287 lectures in 25 sections, about 28 hours, with two small projects early and then one long master project: a Spotify-style music player built with Pinia, Vue Router, Firebase and Vitest. It asks for basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and no Vue experience. The audience list aims at people who finished a beginner tutorial and want something bigger. It was last updated in February 2026, a recent refresh.

Reviewers like the structure. Several say each module builds on the last, the explanations are clear, and the finished app is a real portfolio piece. One working junior-to-mid front-end developer still picked up testing, internationalization and Firebase. The complaints are consistent too. Several reviewers say the narration sounds robotic or monotonous, and some found it tiring over this many hours. One says the early topics get more detail while PWA and testing feel thin, and a couple say the master project can turn into copy-along coding. A few dependencies are dated, and there is no TypeScript or Nuxt.

Value looks good for the length. Of 3,156 ratings, 2,062 are five stars and 792 are four, and only 100 are one or two stars. The lower reviews we can see are mostly about voice and pace. It suits someone who wants to build and ship one full Vue app and is happy to look things up when a version has moved on. Anyone wanting deep Composition API or serious testing practice will need a second resource.

Best forPeople with basic JavaScript who want one big Vue 3 project, with Firebase and testing, to put in a portfolio.
Skip it ifYou need deep TypeScript or Nuxt coverage, or find a flat, synthetic-sounding narration tiring.

Pros

  • One long Spotify-style master project with Firebase auth, uploads and a finished app to show off
  • Reviewers say explanations are clear and each module builds on the last
  • Goes past Vue basics into testing, internationalization, PWAs and deployment
  • Tightly edited, with reviewers noting no time wasted on filler

Cons

  • Narration sounds robotic or monotonous to many reviewers, which wears over 28 hours
  • One reviewer says later topics like PWA and testing get thinner coverage than early ones
  • Mostly code-along with few exercises, and no TypeScript or Nuxt
Straightforward and very clear, with many opportunities to write code to practice and build muscle memory.
Paul Denlinger, a student

Listed as all levels, but it really suits people with basic JavaScript who want to go past a beginner tutorial.

Course Description

Just updated with all new Vue 3 features! Join a live online community of over 900,000+ developers and a course taught by industry experts that have actually worked both in Silicon Valley and Toronto with Vue.js.

Using the latest version of Vue, this course is focused on efficiency. Never spend time on confusing, out of date, incomplete tutorials anymore. Graduates of Andrei’s courses are now working at Google, Tesla, Amazon, Apple, IBM, JP Morgan, Facebook, + other top tech companies.

We guarantee you this is the most comprehensive online resource on Vue. This project based course will introduce you to all of the modern toolchain of a Vue JS developer. Along the way, we will build a massive Music Player application similar to Spotify using Vue, Pinia, Vue Router, Composition API, Firebase, Vitest, Sass + more. This is going to be a full stack app, using Firebase.

All code is going to be provided step by step and even if you don’t like to code along, you will get access to the the full master project code so anyone signed up for the course will have their own project to put on their portfolio right away.

The curriculum is going to be very hands on as we walk you from start to finish of releasing a professional Vue project all the way into production. We will start from the very beginning by teaching you Vue basics and then going into advanced topics so you can make good decisions on architecture and tools on any of your future VueJS projects. You're going to love Vue if you are new to front end frameworks or even if you come from a React or Angular background!

Here is what the course will cover:

1. FUNDAMENTALS - In this section, we will learn about the fundamentals of Vue, such as computed properties, methods, and watchers. With just the fundamentals, we'll be able to manipulate the document with events, binding, and conditional rendering. We'll also learn how to debug an application with the official Vue Developer Tools.

2. PROJECT: PERSPECTIVE PLAYGROUND - In this section, we'll build our first project by creating a CSS perspective playground. This will give us an opportunity to reinforce a lot of the fundamental concepts we learned in the previous section by developing a tool for visualizing how CSS properties can manipulate the perspective of an element.

3. BEYOND THE FUNDAMENTALS - In this section, we'll dive into the inner workings of the Vue framework. How do JavaScript frameworks add reactivity? How does Vue compile templates into virtual DOM objects? This will give us insight into how Vue is able to deliver a framework for modern applications. We'll also talk about lifecycle hooks and components.

4. LEARNING ABOUT THE TOOLS - In this section, we'll take a step back from Vue to talk about some tools for developing applications. Throughout your career, you'll need to deal with the tooling that helps us develop applications (i.e., Vite, Sass, PostCSS, ESLint). We'll talk about how these tools are configured and why they're necessary.

5. ADVANCED COMPONENTS - In this section, we'll scaffold a Vue project with Vite. The goal of Vue is to make the development experience as smooth and painless as possible. Vue can help us with scaffolding a project, configuring tools, and running a server. This alleviates a lot of the more tedious tasks of web development. We'll be able to jump straight into components to see how we can architect an application with components by using props, emitting events, slots, and dynamically rendering content.

6. TRANSITIONS & ANIMATIONS - In this section, we'll learn how to add some pizzaz to an app by adding transitions and animations. Animations can breathe life into any application. They can also improve user experience by giving feedback to the user about their actions. We'll discuss how animations can be achieved with CSS and JavaScript. Both are supported in Vue. We'll even talk about the latest Web Animations API.

7. PROJECT: QUIZ APP - In this section, we're going to take everything we've learned thus far to develop a quiz application. Quizzes are a great way to engage users in almost any industry.

8. MASTER PROJECT: INTRODUCTION TO PINIA - In this section, we'll start working on the master project for this course, which is a music application! Upload, manage and listen to music without interruption. We'll use TailwindCSS to help us with designing a beautiful modern application. It's the new kid on the block that's being embraced by the front-end dev community. Afterward, we'll learn about state management by using the official state library called PINIA (replaces Vuex in newer codebases).

9. MASTER PROJECT: FORM VALIDATION - In this section, we will perform form validation to prevent invalid data from being submitted. Accidents happen. It's our job to make sure to check for mistakes. We'll learn how to enforce rules for various scenarios.

10. MASTER PROJECT: AUTHENTICATION - In this section, we'll begin authentication and registration. Users will be able to login immediately after registering for an account. We'll be using Firebase as a backend solution for managing and verifying users.

11. MASTER PROJECT: ROUTING - In this section, we're going to handle routing with the Vue Router library. Underneath, the router library is using the history API to handle navigation. It allows us to switch between pages without refreshing the assets. We'll look at how we can use this library to help us guard routes, add meta fields, and customize the appearance of our site based on the current route.

12. MASTER PROJECT: UPLOADING FILES - In this section, we're going to start uploading files to Firebase. It's vital we validate files with Firebase. We don't want users to accidentally download a malicious file when listening to music. We'll cover how to enforce validation with Firebase rules. After doing so, we'll store additional information in a database. We'll even cover how to implement a fallback solution in case drag n drop is not available.

13. MASTER PROJECT: PLAYING MUSIC - In this section, we're going to start making the audio player functional. We'll implement basic features such as playing/pausing, scrubbing and displaying the current duration. We'll make the rest of the site functional by allowing users to submit comments, browse music, and sort data.

I took this course while I was already working as a junior-to-mid level front-end developer using Vue, and I still gained a lot from it. I learned many new concepts, both around Vue itself and related tools and practices such as testing, internationalization, and working with Firebase (including authentication, database, and storage) which also gave me valuable hands-on experience with backend-related concepts. These helped me level up professionally and feel more confident in my work. Another big plus is the complete, well-structured project you build throughout the course, which is great to have as a solid addition to your portfolio. That said, it might be a little bit overwhelming for someone who is a complete beginner to finish the entire course.

I've created an independent website using what I've learned from the Complete Vue Developer Bootcamp, adding extra features like creating music albums, playlists, member management, and multi-language support. Check it out here: https://one0910.github.io/vue-earphone-music/#/ As a Taiwanese React developer, I must say that this Complete Vue Developer Bootcamp covers all the necessary skills from beginner to advanced levels. It took me about 7 months from starting the course to completing the entire independent website, but I believe it was time well spent. If you're a frontend developer, taking this course will significantly enhance your Vue development skills.. However, I don't recommend this course for beginners as it requires a solid foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. All in all I highly recommended course!

In general, it’s a well-structured and well-prepared course. The author has good diction, and the course is edited professionally to ensure that the learners' time is not wasted. Unfortunately, the initial topics are explained in detail, while the later topics receive less attention and are covered more briefly. The information provided on PWA, unit testing, and E2E testing is not sufficient to begin using them. Additionally, Nuxt.js is not included. Despite these issues, it’s a good course, and I would recommend it to those who want to start writing web applications with Vue.js.

I think this Vue course is helpful and detailed. One of the things I like about it is that in addition to learning Vue, you also get some bonus learning: how to set up and use Firebase on the backend, how to use Vitest for unit tests and Cypress for end-to-end testing, how to create infinite scroll, how to manage drag and drop file uploads, and even how to create a pwa (progressive web app). I also appreciate the video quality - each video is planned carefully, and there is no time wasted with "um"s and "uh"s. However, given the current state of Vue development, I think the course balance is off. Most of the course teaches the Options API, with a bit about the Composition API at the end. Instead, the course should focus on the Composition API, with a bit about the Options API for those who encounter it in already existing projects. It would also be nice to learn how to use Typescript with Vue. There are also some parts that could use updates (e.g. the Firebase setup), but overall it is a helpful course for those wanting to get started with Vue.

Without a doubt the best learning experience regarding VueJS I've come across. Hugely enjoyable and most of all highly effective. I finished with great confidence in understanding Vue from many different angles. The course goes in depth by example and is very engaging. It does not stop with the basics and I found the chapters about testing, i18n and the composition API as well as the final section about design patterns very enlightening. They are not exhaustive but a great starting point for further research. Perfect! What bothered me a lot was the firebase integration. Too many courses do that and omit important topics like how to take care of authentication against REST APIs, etc. I wish the course was more self sufficient and would provide either some API of it's own or explain a fake API like Mirage JS. Luckily once I understood more and more of Vue's concepts it was not too hard to figure it out. Even before finishing the course I was able to crank out a first small production app and will continue to do so. This course gave me what I needed and anyone who's looking to learn VueJS will benefit greatly from this course.

As a professional Vue developer, I took this course to recapitulate and refresh my knowledge. Looks like this guy is pretty knowledgeable about the topic and the course is well structured. He explains different concepts quite well, although he sometimes complicates things too much by introducing several different ways of making the same thing without the concrete benefit, which will probably confuse less experienced students. For example validation rule was changed in lecture 115, then deleted and changed, then deleted again and introduced another way of doing it in lecture 116. Although this is a Vue course, the author is spending too much time on external add-ons that are not an essential part of Vue but optional individual choices. This course could be easily cut in half. The author is forcing using Yarn instead of the established NPM package manager, as well as Vue UI to manage apps. I humbly think the course should be less opinionated and teach more generic and proven stuff and let the student decide about additional tools and preferences. Also, the teacher is using outdated @vue/cli instead of the better Vite, the native hi-quality Vue bundler. In the end, I skipped the whole form validation section 10, which got me in trouble because personal preferences are part of the core Vue course teaching instead of being separated as optional. I mean, there will always be new kids in the tech world that think they know better (they usually don't) but busy programmers cannot afford to experiment endlessly because it would be a waste of precious programming time. Finally, voice volume varies in each module so the user has to adjust the volume constantly. Overall this is a good course, but I feel due to the above-mentioned less experienced students will find themselves confused pretty often.

I do plenty courses here but none of them was finished. This is my first course i finished and i actually understand most of principles explained here. It was long Journey for me i think it was 5 months but it worth the effort. I figure out that the best learning strategy is around 30 to 45 minutes per day and atleast 4-5 times per week. I am soo excited to build my own pages i have plans to build first some info/portfolio pages and then move to more complicated pages like My own custom shopping list. Thanks for great course. :)

By Sem Ekkelboom on 3/7/2022

The course goes over all the key concepts of the framework as well as guiding you through some of the edge-cases of the tool. One giant plus for this course, which made me really enjoy it, is the fantastic course project. A lot of times you'll make a default todo app, or a groceries or recipies app, but making your own Spotify-like web-player was a very interesting project that really motivated me to keep on going. If I would have to improve one thing of the course, it would be the last few sections after the master project. It get's a bit recital, if i'm using the term correctly. It feels a bit like a summary of all the extra's and additions. Having them discussed within the master project would have been better for keeping motivated. The last sections got a little hard to get through because of this. Thanks for the knowledge, the quick responses on my questions and keep up these awesome course projects!

I started a Vue.js course previously (on Udemy) that I felt I wasn't learning anything, and I'm glad I switched to this course. I'm familiar with HTML, CSS, and JS, but I had zero Vue.js experience going into this, and I am happy with my experience and what I've learned. 2 things of note: 1) Most videos have quiet audio, which I didn't mind, as I could hear it fine with the volume turned up. However, there's a few videos that have louder recorded audio than the others. When your volume is already turned up, it's quite a shock. 2) Although knowledgeable and great at explaining things, the instructor's voice is very monotone, and it can make it hard to keep your attention all the way to the end (I found it hard, at least). I could see it being easier for students where English isn't their primary language. That said, though, he is easy to understand, and he has good knowledge in the subject he's teaching. I'd recommend it for the beginner.

By Nejc B on 7/11/2021

Great course with the most complete main project out of all the popular Vue courses here on Udemy. Options API is covered in great detail and the same goes for Router and Vuex. All the official core team plugins are taught aswell, like vue-i18n, vue-pwa and a popular external form validation library vee-validate. I think this is also the only course that has a section on testing, which is a big plus. For possible future additions / improvements, I would suggest additional lectures on testing (more advanced cases) and more in-depth coverage of the Composition API. Right now it feels more like an 'afterthough' or a 'bonus section', when in reality it's going to become the go-to way of writing Vue apps (TS + Composition API), at least for bigger production-grade projects.
