Our take
Based on the ratings of 12,951 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in September 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.
Jason Dion's CySA+ course follows the CS0-004 exam objectives closely. The syllabus shows 43 sections and 323 lectures, about 52 hours in all, split across security operations, vulnerability management, incident response and reporting. A full practice exam sits at the end. It was published in 2023 and last updated in September 2026, so it is current for the new exam version. Nearly 80,000 students have enrolled.
Reviewers mostly like it. Of 12,951 ratings, 8,603 are five stars and 3,562 are four. Students say Dion makes dry material engaging, and that the practice exam is hard and close to the real thing. One reviewer passed with an 840 after skimming the domains they already knew. The complaints are consistent too. Several say he keeps noting that a topic is not on the test, and one adds that he mentions his Pentest+ course often. One finds the slide-based lectures hard to retain, and another says the recent update reset their progress.
That is a lot of video, and one reviewer suggests pairing it with the Sybex book to stay fresh. Another asks for more hands-on labs, and the syllabus shows no coding exercises. A reviewer who already held SecurityX skipped the domains they knew and still passed. For most people aiming at the CySA+ exam, it looks like a solid, exam-focused pick, though anyone wanting lab practice may need to look elsewhere.
Pros
- Full practice exam that reviewers call challenging and close to the real test
- Syllabus covers all four CS0-004 domains, including a section on AI in security operations
- Reviewers say Dion keeps dry material engaging and explains topics thoroughly
- Updated in September 2026, so it matches the current exam version
Cons
- Frequent "not on the exam" asides annoy several reviewers, and one dislikes the Pentest+ plugs
- No coding exercises in the syllabus, and one reviewer wants more hands-on labs
- About 52 hours of slide-based lectures that one reviewer found hard to retain
Great course with a lot of samples and thorough explanations of the topics covered by the class.
Marked All Levels, but it assumes networking and security basics plus some Windows and Linux use.

Exam Takeaways are pretty good, heard that many people say this course tends to add extra things you don't need to know for the exam, better to over prepare then under! Practice Exam is also very challenging at the end and I enjoyed it. Good Tip: Pair this with the Sybex book to alternate the videos with reading so you don't grow tired of either one.
By Gary Priddy on 8/11/2026
"This course delivers real value. I'd highly recommend it to anyone working toward their Cyber+ certification. My one suggestion would be to incorporate more hands-on labs — a few extra reps in the trenches never hurt. That said, thank you for such a well-crafted learning experience."
By Drew Miller on 6/29/2026
This is good; however there is a lot of information he covers and then says this is not relevant for this exam. It could be covered as bonus content or something.
By Romel on 6/14/2026
I took Dions CySa+ course and loved it. Dion lays out the concepts really well and even does demos for us to visualize. I took my exam a couple months back and I passed. Dion is legit.
By Geoffrey Langenberg on 5/14/2026
This course played an essential role in growing my CySA knowledge and preparing for the Exam. Dion Training gives you multiple resources, real world examples, and detailed lab overviews of the topics they discuss. Thanks for helping me learn this material to let me get another certification under my belt!

This is a very thorough course; I would recommend this over reading some of the study guides that are available for the CySA+ exam. I would definitely recommend this course for anyone who seeks to sit for and pass the CySA+ exam.
By William H McPherson on 4/10/2026
I finished the course few months ago, but dragged my feet on taking the exam due to recently getting hired by a new company. I passed the exam yesterday first try and I want to say the course along with Jason's practice exams more than prepared me for the exam. This is the third course of his that I've used. Normally, I'll see few questions that throw me for a loop during and exam. This time, I didn't see any like that. Jason and crew, keep up the good work.
By David Brown on 4/7/2026
Course covered all domains and helped me pass the CYSA+ exam in April 2026. I felt however the instructor should include non-relevant material (Not covered in the exam objectives, but relevant to cyber security as a whole) as bonus content at the end. Course was a function too long and over kill.
By Raymond Schuiling on 4/3/2026
Hi Jason, As always your course is great and a must see when preparing for CySa. I do find the regular "buy an exam voucher message" before some video starts pretty annoying. Sorry but for this I am rating it 4.5 out of 5
By Jaiden leal on 1/7/2026
I have honestly enjoyed those website. its calm, relaxing, allows you to set up a nice pace at your own time. the only thing I wish it had was a set of music, to truly create a calming environment
